Wow, they're addressing the backlog by scheduling buybacks in the past!Buyback: 12/1/16 (the soonest available in my area)
HA! fixed.Wow, they're addressing the backlog by scheduling buybacks in the past!
I've chosen Steve Hahn Motors in Yakima Wa to do the buyback. I just called them to see if they've had any buybacks scheduled. Seems they've had a buyback 'ambassador' in their dealership 'for about a week' and have been scheduling appointments since then, according to one of their sales staff. Dang! I didn't even get a 'come see me' invitation when I do the buyback. If you aren't familiar with Yakima its a smallish town with a population of around 90k people. It's main 'industry is agriculture. Must be a lot of people in the area that bought a 2.0L TDI.
It's good to know that the buybacks are being done even in the smaller dealerships.
I'm still banking on getting final approval of my docs on or near Dec. 9th - which is 10 business days from when I faxed them in - Nov. 13th. It took 10 business days to acknowledge my faxed documents. Why is that in the 10 business days as part of the process? Seems like VW is using the 10 day step process rather loosely IMO. My process has been 10 business days (equals exactly two weeks) on each step. Who knows? Maybe I'll get the buyback papers approved sooner and get this wrapped up before the end of December.
Everything I did was responded to by the claims center in that same 2 weeks/10 business days pace I noted above - thinking I'd get the go-ahead to schedule a buyback date on Dec 9th. I thought exactly that up until last night. Sunday evening (Dec 4th). About 9PM I got an email from the claims portal letting me know I could sign in and schedule a buyback day. I took the first one available - the 22nd of Dec.Good to hear this info. I live in Sunnyside which is just 30 minutes east of yakima. they are my preferred dealer. Hoping i get to schedule mine soon. So don't take my spot please
I hear ya. Got mine scheduled yesterday for 12/22 930am so i am ready to get this done and over with. I will be leaving with a new car I hope going to visit them this weekend to make sure they have what i want. Looking at a new Passat 1.8T SE with Tech. right now they don't show any on hand but should be easy enough for them to bring one in from another dealer i hope.Everything I did was responded to by the claims center in that same 2 weeks/10 business days pace I noted above - thinking I'd get the go-ahead to schedule a buyback date on Dec 9th. I'll be able to close this chapter of my life. Not that I don't love my Jetta, it's been a great car without any problems over 22k miles but I doubt there is going to be a fix. No reason to hold on to a car that I believe will not be allowed on Washington State roads for very much longer.
So you're saying don't notarize or upload my docs until I'm actually ready to turn the car in...You don't "get an appointment" (in that you're assigned a date and time), you set an appointment, and you have a three-month (or maybe four-month) window in which you can set that. You pick the date and time yourself. If you don't know when you want to set the appointment, don't do so until you do.
No, from what I'm reading here, you should go ahead and upload everything because it still takes a while for them to process your notarized documents. If you get to the point where you're ready to schedule an appointment, you get to pick a date within, what, a 3 month window? If that time approaches and you're still not ready, you can reschedule. So you're saying don't notarize or upload my docs until I'm actually ready to turn the car in...
This will be quite a balancing act!
Not too many people with loans even from docs approved on 11/2 have gotten offers.Docs approved 11/18
Crickets ever since.
