Thoughts on a 2009 Touareg2 TDI purchase

My X3 (6 speed) now has 208,000 miles and I am starting to look for my next vehicle. I came across a 2009 Touareg2 TDI for sale with 113,000 miles $12k. It has a new waterpump and is supposedly covered by the TDI warranty.

Is this something I should consider? I do a lot of my own work.

It is newer than my X3 and has almost 100k fewer miles on it. Plus the VW warranty, if that is really worth anything.

Get the details on when the "fixes" were done. I've seen too many sellers claim Diesel warranty left, but you need to take the VIN to the VW Diesel lookup website and check what's really left (time & miles) if any.

That said, I think $12k is high unless it has some warranty left and LOTS of the desireable features, the later TDI Touaregs don't offer.
