Michigan has the same option with period correct plates. They have to be the same year as your vehicle and inspected for condition and tag if applicable at time of registration. Good for as long as you own the car after that. Historic vehicle plates are another option, I think they are only good for 10 years thoughLifetime registration and no inspection. I just think it's kind of neat that the state sees it as an antique. Our first new car was a 99 NB TDI and I remember pretty well all the press and what not when these were new.
You mean like it seems like there is one every day?Lots of car shows and cruise ins around the state during summer months once the salt is washed away from spring rains
That's awesome, was '59 the last year with the split/double rear window? In 1988 or so I restored a 59 Beetle. It was rusted and beat, I had the body off the pan and fixed everything and it was pretty nice when I was done. At thirtyish years old it seemed ancient at the time. I was after all, driving pretty hot 77 Rabbit as my daily driver, so the bug was old tech.
I just saw an ad for a decent looking 1986 Golf. The description says "pretty nice for a 38 year old car". I had to do the math, yep, it's that old. When they were new, I was washing them on the dealer's lot.
Close, those club meetings add upYou mean like it seems like there is one every day?
Michigan is restricted to car shows, club meetings, parades and such. With the exception of the month of August, unlimited travel.

You're also allowed to drive the antique vehicle after performing service. That's going to be my excuse if they see me riding my panhead around. You mean like it seems like there is one every day?

Got any pics of the panhead? You're also allowed to drive the antique vehicle after performing service. That's going to be my excuse if they see me riding my panhead around.
that's so bizarre; in Wisconsin, you're not allowed to drive in January with themMichigan is restricted to car shows, club meetings, parades and such. With the exception of the month of August, unlimited travel.

I moved away from Montana close to when both my rigs would have qualified. Was a bad move on my partCome out to Montana. You can get permanent registration for anything 14 yrs old or older.
I wonder if that is their way of making sure it's not your daily driver. You would have to have something else to drive for that month.that's so bizarre; in Wisconsin, you're not allowed to drive in January with them
That’s why I have period plates on my K5^Second. The less interaction I have with the .gov the better!
