I did the EGR Delete - Smokin' like crazy

I thought I was doing a good thing for my '96 B4 Wagon.
The EGR Delete, done with a VagCom according to instructions on the FAQ page.
NOT GOOD for my TDi. Now it smokes Really bad.
Have to ask for some help, do some research to figure out why/what happened and "undo" my bad deed. Poor B4 - it was so happy before I tryed to tinker on it.
Any ideas, anybody else do the EGR Delete?

"hobby cars"

Tony:
YUP, these are hobby cars but at least they keep me away from:
1. drinking more than two beers @ the same sitting 'cause saved beer money goes for new parts
2. B4's keep me @ home where I am less of danger to others and society
3. " have tought me to be patient!
4. they have also showed me how to be more frugal in many manners
5. 50 MPG is coming up soon(in a wagon),...

Welcome to hobby cars! ;)

Cleaned the MAF, topped off oil after changeing, ..got a little blast of soot the first chance I could get on the throttle, may have been the extra power from cleaning the MAF.

Contact this guy for the skirt 3A0825254B if you have the evolution skid plate. I just bought 2.

...thanks for the #'s, I dont have a skid plate so Ill have to be careful and lucky as possible. If this B4 were a better specimen Id get a plate. I thought the skirt was useable without a plate, I just wanted to cover the belts from water -etc. Have sunk enough into it this year; Hood ,seats brakes ,rotors, bumper & assembly, wheels, water pump, miscellaneous elctrical and cosmetic parts. Dont get me wrong, Im enjoying it immensely, but the truck is getting new upper and lower ball joints and shocks all way-round tomorrow afterwhich an alignment and tires, so Ill be laying low financially for a few weeks.

I need/want to grab a side skirt and skid plate...

I cleaned my MAF, checked oil level since I did a change ~2K ago (burned off less than I thought), and changed out tranny fluid to Redline MTL from MT-90.. Took time tilting thr car 3 different ways to make sure I drained out as much as I could've too. Time to see if the noise from engine braking goes away...

Cleaned my B4, took some pics.

Recently fitted:
-Euro-spec headlight switch.
-Front/rear fog lights.
-Glass Ecode headlights.
-Corrado steelies and centercaps.
-Painted the side mouldings flat black.

Hoping to find some clear Euro corner lights and side repeaters soon.

What an improvement!

NICE, very nice ride!

1. I got the same switch

3. the wheels actually look good
4. Did I say I noticed your car is clean..., pat in the back for you!

^^^ Thanks man. It has come along way in the short time I have owned it.

BTW: Found the switch and glass headlights on my local craigslist at a killer price!

Looks great, I love the CL trim! Did you scuff it before painting? I'd also like to know which product you ended up using.

I didn't scuff it before painting. I picked up a few cans of black plastic spray paint from Menard's. Then I popped the door trim off the car and gave them a few coats. The plastic paint bond's perfect and it was ready for another coat within minutes, this stuff dries to a nice black textured look. I removed the front and rear bumper covers and did them off the car rather than masking off. The end result is fantastic.

This is the exact product by Rustoleum:

And then you're going to drive it in the SNOW? OMG!
It's "K" wagon getting the brake job, not "P" wagon :D ...(she's already received the same treatment last year!!)

Looks good! Have to say though, if you're going to run Corrado rims, there should be Corrado brakes underneath them;)

We have a new set of those euro corner "lights"(they don't light)....if your stock units are mint, I'd consider trading. Of course I'll have to locate them:eek:...and the side repeaters as you're calling them, are the same used on any A4 Golf/Jetta. Pretty common in the bone yards. PM "McGink" he found some new ones on the cheap.

Fixed a rattle in the steering column, and pulled the AC vents for a cleaning, and foam removal. Now, all is clear! At least until next weekend.;)

On the red wagon, let the GP's run a couple of times and still did not start(27F last night). The starter would not engage and good thing that I live on a steep incline, then it eventually work!? HU?

Washed the wagon, put feulin it and calcutaled ~MPG, 39ish! YUCK!

Long way to get this wagon better...

Over the weekend, installed an OEM right rear engine mount, and installed a flex section after the Catlytic converter. Vibrations have been reduced ~ 60%.

Going to change out the front mount next...
