Hi guys – I’d like to take a moment to introduce me and my company – Pioneering Performance Ltd in the UK. My name is Adam and I have been working in the turbocharger industry for over 15 years now, and have quietly built several turbos to grace these pages in the past. My current project is the result of a few years work, and can be found on my webshop www.pioneering-performance.com (oops its not live for a couple more days...) We can be contacted at pioneeringperformance@gmail.com or on https://www.facebook.com/pioneeringperformanceltd/
We have designed, and cast / finish machined all proudly in the UK, an OEM looking manifold / turbine housing to bolt onto the 1.9 8v TDi heads, which will accept the GTB20-22 etc range of turbocharger CHRA.

This manifold (or turbocharger built into it) will bolt straight onto the cylinder head without fouling on any of the inlet manifolds tested to date, and will integrate perfectly with most of the OEM functionality. The OEM lower support bracket (the GT1749VB style one for the hole pointing at the block not the earlier VNT15 style for the hole parallel to the block) will rotate and bolt on providing superior support and fantastic longevity. The OEM 3 bolt downpipe mounts straight up. The OEM oil drain bolts straight up (when using an Audi origin 2260 turbo). Your original actuator and bracket can be used. The metal GT1749VB (721021) turbo inlet pipe will mount straight up with a silicone reducer. The EGR system will bolt up to the blanked off flange, which makes for an almost OEM looking install. The EGR port is not functional, but we have a pilot plotted for if you want to drill and tap for an EMP or EGT gauge. We have tried to make this as practical and as universal as possible, but still with quality and performance as the top design factors.
The castings are cast in the UK by a specialised foundry, with around 80% of their business made up by small runs of pre-production turbine housings for the likes of Garrett and Borg Warner. We chose the most temperature resistant material to ensure the life of these items, and they are finish machined here in the UK using various CNC processes.

We have a comprehensive webshop which is nearly up and running (still a bit of a work in progress in places so please bear with us), and offer for sale anything turbo related, especially performance orientated.

What we stock in the GTB Emporium

We can source pretty much every part you need to rebuild or upgrade your GTB turbo. (Actually pretty much any turbo you care to play with!) Covering the “smaller” GTB frame sizes – GTB14-17 and the “larger” frame sizes GTB20-22; and ranging from the smallest nut, washer or O-ring up to major components like turbine wheels, compressor wheels and CHRA. We manufacture our own high performance bespoke parts, and stock many of the popular MFS / billet compressor wheels. If you can’t see what you are looking for simply drop us an email and we’ll do our best to sort you out.

A small example of some of the parts we have in stock at the moment, everything is listed on the shop.
Compressor wheels cast and billet

Sizes for GT/GTB from 49mm up to 71mm and all things weird and wonderful inbetween!

Turbine wheels standard and our own custom lightweight

We carry standard turbine wheels for pretty much anything, and manufacture the lightweight Audi and BMW sized GTB2260, and also the AMG GT23 ones to fit into the GTB units.

VNT Cage and Nozzle rings,

Compressor housings and CHRA - billet, cast, lightweight turbine, Vacuum converted..........

Talk about making it easy to upgrade to a GTB2056VK or a GTB2260VK

I'll keep on checking back for when the website is up and running. This way I'll see if I can afford to replace my VNT-17/22 with one of your PnP turbo setups. :D

Wow! That's a nice improvement over the factory turbo.

For the VKLR turbos, do you utilize the liquid cooling part of the turbo or can you run them with just oil?

It is highly recommended to run them with the water cooling. The ceramic bearings we use are found in the oil only cooled 1752VRK, however that bearing housing is somewhat different inside with an air cavity there to isolate the oil from the heat. The VKLRs don't have the air cavity and so would benefit from having the water circuit enabled. Better safe than sorry...

Could one buy just the casting if they already have a CHRA and everything else needed to get the turbo working?

Absolutely - that’s the whole idea of this product. If you have a functioning GTB2260 you can unbolt the 6 M6 bolts and washers that hold the CHRA into the turbine housing, and swap the entire assembly into our manifold and create a largely plug and play solution. (Excluding the work needed in completing the vacuum conversion).
We have plenty of stock available for £525 plus VAT and shipping.

these manifolds work great, im running one with a gtb2265vk from skilla turbo

should see over 300bhp with it, got a highlift cam and firad+80 injectors (will be fitting a ported head which might have oversized valves...)

That's great to hear! This sounds like a great solution for me when I upgrade from my VNT-17/22, since the exhaust will bolt right up. :D

That's my plan down the line with the port and polished head with larger valves and an upgraded cam. I was planning on going with R783 nozzles, since that should allow me to hit my goal of 230whp and still be responsive enough to feel like the VNT-17/22, but have a heck of a lot more on the top end. :D

It's great to see your website is up and running! Now I just need to come up with the money to purchase one of your turbos, after I figure out what turbo to go with. :D

Keep up the great work!:)

First off i want to thank Pioneering Performance for offering such a great turbo I have ran a ton of turbo's in the past and nothing comes close to what they offer I have a 2260 with 11+0 wheel my EGT's never get over 1350F with my 12mm pump and .300s nozzles.

Here is a dyno i did please note only the 1st pull is 1:1 pull 2 and 3 are 1-5th gears

How in 1 run your outputting 445 lb-ft then the next 602 lb-ft? And what boost are you using for those # 50PSI?

Please us about your engine work to handle all that torque

It's great to see this kit released Adam. I really wish this would have been available last year when I made the switch from a VK style turbo to a VKLR style turbo. I bought a kit online, but had to modify it to work for my application, which cost me more than double than what I originally paid for the kit itself.

Keep up the great work and I can't wait to see what you come out with next. :)
