Am I the only person who sees a gold bar sweep from left to right, and a few vertical stripes on the top right of the page after I make a post ?
The gold bar that sweeps across the page header ?

Yeah - I've noticed that a bit more frequently lately as well. Simply the page loading your content - not sure if maybe there's some extra checks happening in an effort to curtail the increase spambots that have shown up recently.

I don't think is Fred's or anything from that side. I sometimes see it on other Xenforo based forum pages. My belief is that it is related to the wireless router I have at home. Usually 144 Mbps, sometimes drops to a 1980's 'dial-up' rate. A quick router power-off and reset and it's OK for a few hours.

It's the system attempting to *write* to the database and finding things a bit busy. Reading the database is much quicker, so you'll likely never see the orange light show while browsing.

I have seen it a lot when posting, but only for the last few weeks. The browser is waiting for a response from the server which is delayed, likely due to database performance issues as @Vince Waldon says. If you hit refresh your post will have been posted. I have also noticed an increase in duplicate posts recently, which is what happens if you hit post again.
No/slow response when posting
In the last few days I have noticed the server doesn't respond, or takes a long time to respond, when I post a reply - but if I reload the page my post appears. It's tempting to hit the post button again, but that results in a duplicate post. There seem to be a lot of those lately, so I suspect...

I have noticed that when you refresh the page it immediately shows posted. And it just did it on this post as I'm on a ship in Nassau Bahamas with only LTE available.
