Since that's connected to the ECU, a traditional test light may not be a good idea. Either a multimeter or led test light would be safer.

I imagine the current into a solenoid from the drain of a p-channel MOSFET is going to be less than a small lamp, but I could be wrong. The inductance from a coil certainly will be far more than a lamp filament. Either way, multimeters can be had for free from Horrible Freight, so whatever works.
