So i see that VW has new golf TDI's at the west side dealership here in my Minneapolis MN town. They only had a 4 door DSG for me to drive insted of the 6 speed manual 2 door i wanted...
But I wasn't to be discouraged and took the car out. Loved the MFI, loved the touch screen radio, seems like a huge waste of space if thats all it does but... still cool.

The car had tons of power. TONS of power, it was effortlessly at 80 before I could think about it, and I wasn't even pressing on the pedal 1/2 way... IT drove quiet and solid took sharp turns at 50 mph without any roll and sharp turns breaking down from 50 with only slight roll. drove it 10 miles away and ten miles back, and on the way back cruising at 60mph averaging 58.2 mpg (says the computer) and BAM! Check engine light pops up, no chime just light.

I was curious to what it could be and was worried they would blame it on me, i was to far from home to scan it and clear it so i took it back, no change in driving at all.

Told the dealership and the lady first said "weird!" but didn't seem to care at all about it. didnt say anything else about it.

I want to buy one but will be waiting 3-4 months anyways. I really want to know what codes it popped up if im going to buy one. I love my VW TDI's but would die if i spent 26K on one and then had to deal with the dealerships bull**** over a lemon. Should I ask them what the CEL was? or should I leave it alone...?

So you want us to guess the code according to light icon?
I doubt dealership will allow you connect VCDS. Any third party cables/software voids warranty, at least here in Europe.

I would have asked the service manager, when I got back what the code was, I bet it was a temp sensor, maybe they had not done the recall on the DSG yet...

A few years ago I rented a A5 golf in Germany. It had a PD130 I think

Drove it about 40 miles till it went into Limp mode (flashing GP light)

Let me tell you. Limp mode is NO FUN on the Aotobauhn
