You'll have to tell me what wget is...dos?
I used the import web feature of frontpage.
There is a link off my home page that points to my home pc, and that has a link called 'tsbs'.
Of course my hard drive could crash. I'm not exactly doing backups.
I guess I'll try to update it once in awhile.

(PS: Try it and tell me if it really works ok)

BTW: did you guys see the tsb on silicones and the maf. It said that any detailing materials containing silicone could damage the maf. I think should wait to cure. I wonder if the silicone sealant typically used on the K&N filters might be an example?

tdi power;
I am interested in getting the file but I don't have a cable modem or anything with high speed access. Can you burn it on a CD? If so I would be more than happy to trade some greenbacks for a copy. I could have my friend download it and burn a copy for me if you e-mailed it to him?

Alright I am home now. Well, if it is done then it is done.

tdi_pwr, send me the zip file and I will burn CD for anyone who wants it.

email me at knaack@tcinternet.net for the zip file and CD requests. It costs me a little under a buck for a CD. To ship it and all, don't know yet.

I work at Office Depot part-time so I can get some mailing stuff etc. for anything.

Well first things first. Let's see if I can get the zip successfully on a CD.

Someone came to their senses? Maybe or just that the password feature was f*cking up so they went back the old way. Yes, someone has to download all that before they put the fixed password feature back up. Damn I don't get home until 9:30pm tonite. I would be able to download all the website myself.
I have cablemodem.

I send an email to my ISP and my cable provider. Cable limit is 3MB. Still waiting for my ISP to reply.

I will email directly if all else fails so that you can ftp it to my website.

You got somewhere I can FTP or an HTML link you can email me with? I would be very interested and also willing to put them all up on a web page - my server will not allow the direct download of zip files but I think I can work around it. .

tdi_pwr,

I finally heard from my ISP. Said it was 20MB per mail. Recommended FTP since it is faster than the mail server.

I just send you an email. Check it and reply (to the email) before 3pm CST today. Otherwise email me at the address above if after 3pm.

The last couple pages of the Warranty book outlines how you can BUY individual TSB's directly from VW. However the index is FREE.

From the 2000 Golf Jetta Canada Warranty booklet...

Updated Service Information You Can Obtain

Volkswagen monitors product performance in the field and regularly sends dealers the latest service information about Volkswagen vehicles. Now you too, can get these bulletins

Bulletins cover a wide variety of subjects: the proper use and care of your car, costly repairs, inexpensive repairs or adjustments which, if done early, may avoid costly future repairs. Some bulletins describe repairs about new or unexpected conditions. Others describe improved repair procedures or parts improvements. All of this information can also help a qualified technician better service your vehicle.

Most bulletins apply to conditions affecting a small number of vehicles. Your dealer or a qualified technician may have to determine if a specific bulletin applies to your vehicle.

You can order any or all of these bulletins direct from Volkswagen or look at them at a Volkswagen dealer. You can order an index which lists and identifies these bulletins and summarizes the most important ones. You also can order individual bulletins. However the index is necessary to identify them.

How to Order an Index

Indexes are published quarterly and updated cumulatively. When you order an Index we will send you the most current. For the current model year you may want to wait for the last index of the model year to know what was published. Some bulletins pertaining to a particular model and model year may be published in a later year's index. To order an index, use the Volkswagen Product Service Publication Order Form in the middle of this brochure. The Index is free of charge

You may also order the Index by calling toll-free at 1 (800) 544-8021. Listen to the recording and leave your name, address, vehicle make and model year. If you prefer, you can also fax your request to 1(800) 572-1438.

What You Will Find in the Index

A list of Volkswagen bulletins for 1985 and later model years, covering all North American Specification Volkswagen models.

Easy-to-understand highlights of bulletins which describe repairs and procedures designed to help prevent major repairs. These highlights may also contain owner use and care information.

Ordering information on how to buy specific bulletins.

Ordering and price information for Volkswagen Repair Manuals

Ordering and price information for Volkswagen Electrical Wiring diagrams.

Ordering and price information ofr microfilmed Product Service Information.

Ordering and price information for current and past model year Owner's Literature including:

Owner's Manuals

Maintenance Manuals

Warranty Manuals

Radio Manuals
[/list]

How to Order Individual Service Bulletins

Instead of buying all bulletins issued by Volkswagen, you can buy bulletins for a particular model or model year. To do this you will first need the current Index. For individual bulletins there is a charge of $4.00 U.S. for the first bulletin requested in each order and $2.00 U.S. for each additional bulletin requested in that order.

Cautionthis section was originally in BOLD type...
These bulletins are intended for qualified technicians. They are not meant for the CASUAL do-it-your-selfer. Qualified technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. Improperly performed repairs or maintenance can adversely affect the safety of your vehicle, possibly leading to accident or injury. They may also impair the economy, durability or reliability of your vehicle and may void the warranty of your car. If you are not sure that you can perform a job properly and safely, you should not risk trying to do so.

Volkswagen Service Information on Microfilm

Volkswagen offers for sale all service bulletins covering model years 1985 to present on standard microfiche. Also available on microfiche are repair manuals and wiring diagrams. Prices for individual microfiche sets are listed in the latest Index.
