Man killed by car at accident scene
A 39-year-old man was struck by a car when he got out of his vehicle to assist a motorist who was involved in an unrelated collision, police said.
Richard Simpson stopped his vehicle on the north side of Warm Springs Road west of Buffalo Drive around 9:45 p.m. and was running south across Warm Springs road to help another motorist who was in a collision when 22-year-old Nicole Cruz hit him with her 2003 Kia Sorrento, Metro Police said.
Metro did not identify the make and model of Simpson's vehicle.
Authorities airlifted Simpson to UMC, where he died a short time later, Metro said.
Metro is still investigating the collision.
Simpson was the 121st person to die in traffic in Las Vegas or unincorporated Clark County this year.
