I wonder how the proposals are progressing?
I stayed up late last night and sent out RFPs to three hotels in two different areas. The ball is definitely rolling.
PS, for those who are working on a proposal, please contact me directly. The planning document is currently being updated with feedback from this years fest and is required reading before submitting a proposal even for veteran organizers.I wonder how the proposals are progressing?

I know you've had problems getting a WNY GTG. Kinda stinks, eh? If I still lived in WNY I would have come to the WNY GTGs, but I escaped to the land of even higher taxes...we can't even get a few people together to meet up somewhere and socialize....we also have casinos,Darien Lake theme park and a bunch of chicken wing places-and the Chicken Wing Fest is held Labor Day weekend.....
but I'm too busy working to pay all the taxes they levy around hereI know you've had problems getting a WNY GTG. Kinda stinks, eh? If I still lived in WNY I would have come to the WNY GTGs, but I escaped to the land of even higher taxes...
Hold yer horses...he's waiting for some more input and I'm being slow...recovering from foot surgery and all... ...not that I'm the only one holding things up...at least I hope I'm not...*twiddling thumbs*
TDIs on the Road to Nowhere would be uber-cool!Throwing in a suggestion for an excellent location with plenty of parking and a local community that would benefit from the influx of visitors...
Iqaluit, Nunavut.
south eastern USA. then I will be there

It took me a week before i could get to my part... i dunno... you might be the only one. slow poke. And don't blame Vicodin for the lack of spell check and funny sentence structure.Hold yer horses...he's waiting for some more input and I'm being slow...recovering from foot surgery and all... ...not that I'm the only one holding things up...at least I hope I'm not...
I don't care how dry it is, 118*F in Phoenix was hot.As a friend of mine says, when people say "it's a dry heat." "So is my oven." I've been in Palm springs when it was 110. Dry, perhaps, but still hot.
I would love to drive to Denver or St. Louis. The former is eye candy and the latter is close. But Chattanooga actually makes some sense. We can bring Amarok posters and chant 4Motion, 4Motion, 4MotionChattanooga, TN! 70% of the American population live within a day's drive. Maybe get a big group tour of that shiny new VW factory?
It would be easy to figure out which exit to take... Volkswagen Drive off of I-75.
Good thing it's not up to youWest coast isnt happening 2 years in a row........
Why not? Remember it isn't where the city is located, it's where the group with the best proposal is located.West coast isn't happening 2 years in a row........
True enough, organization is key.Remember it isn't where the city is located, it's where the group with the best proposal is located.
Believe it or not, Knoxville doesn't have any hotels that meets the needs of the club. I have looked, they either have conference space or parking space, but not both.True enough, organization is key.
There is no shortage of great destinations, it all depends on what the organizers are capable of doing and how many people are able to get there.
My 2 cents:
Knoxville is not so far from Chattanooga and being a college town probably has plenty of venues for something like this, just in case Chattanooga can't be considered for some reason or other.
Anywhere in N. Carolina, Wilmington, Winston-Salem, Charlotte, is convenient to the South and Mid-Atlantic.
Little Rock is very scenic, lots of venues along the river and downtown, outdoors stuff, is driveable from Memphis, Dallas, Oklahoma City, it's a stretch but can be driven in a day from Kansas City and St. Louis, lots of nice hilly drives, good roads.
Not so many TDIs owners there, however.
Denver would be great, so would Ft. Collins and Co. Springs.
Carson City or someplace scenic would be preferable to Las Vegas, less expensive too.
So there are no shortage of locales that would be great. In the end, it comes down to what the organizers are capable of doing.
Just observing.
Nashville!Believe it or not, Knoxville doesn't have any hotels that meets the needs of the club. I have looked, they either have conference space or parking space, but not both.
