I'd better get going, then.VeeDubTDI said:Folks, we've reached a decision... TDIFest will be in Sydney, Australia this year! Congrats to the secret Sydney team who planned all of this behind our backs!

Much more likely to rain in Chicago on Labor Day weekend than in Portland.MonsterTDI09 said:I hope it doesn't rain on that weekend.
Cool! I've purchased YOM plates from a couple Ontario ALPCA members: Jonathan, and Eric. Our local club, uses them on our aircooler's. Those guys are a great resource. I attended the last meet in Georgetown this past spring. Great group of people.cmitchell said:I'm a member of another organization (ALPCA) that has a convention each year
I don't care for trophies, just making some suggestions to make the Fests and bigger. Keep it fresh.oilhammer said:Man, if the only reason you come to TDI fest is to win some trophy for your car I have pity on you.
Honestly, because it's been closer to the east coast for so many years that us westerly people didnt understand what we were missing. I was awaken to TDIFest when I went out to DC for 2009.VeeDubTDI said:Wow, lots of East Coasters are planning on attending TDIFest 2010... why are there so few West Coasters attending TDIFests on the East Coast, or in the middle of the country?

This is not an east VS west competition to see who will show up and whos fest is better. it's an east MEETS west gathering of people with similar interests, to forge connections, make friendships, network, etc. so I'd like to see people taking that into consideration and dropping the "our side is better than your side" point of view (I'm guilty of it too ) and be open to the endless possibilities that lay before us with this new link in events as well as previous events. We are a community of incredible people, I'd hate to see an involuntary competition and bias start to form because of this. One Way Street? I'm making an observation about how things have happened year after year after year. Hopefully, things change now that you all are having a west coast Fest.
Well put, Brian! That's what I'm talking about!!!Honestly, because it's been closer to the east coast for so many years that us westerly people didnt understand what we were missing. I was awaken to TDIFest when I went out to DC for 2009.
Let's change that!!!
I'd like this to be a stepping stone for other regions around the country and world to step up and put something together.
