Calculated by dividing total wear metals by miles in thousands. The national average is 6.538 ppm total wear metals, less Mn and Ni. This is based on 51 ppm total / 7800 miles by Blackstone.

“used oil analysis” Database : Instructions
1. You must submit all information in the format shown at bottom.
Use your same post for every UOA, to save space, and to make it easier to read. If you post twice, you will not be counted till you delete the second post. So, every time you get a new UOA, go back to your original post and edit it. Or add the UOA you want tabulated to the top in the required format. Link to your full UOA's below your database entry. SunRG's UOA and discussion thread is there for you, http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=154548, use it. If you want to have a separate thread for all your UOA's, then post all your UOA's in ONE thread. This will save space and you can post a link to it in your personal UOA thread. This will show all your UOA's in one click. People can then see your trend and make sense of it
2. The minimum for tabulation into the database is 5000 miles, or 125 hours if you have a meter.
One hour is equivalent to 40 miles. We have users that average less than 25 mph. Its a honor system so you need not post your lab copy of UOA, again space. It need not be your last UOA, or your best UOA, but only the one at the very top will be included. Manganese and Nickel are optional for now.
3. There are no deductions for baseline but you may deduct for VOA on a batch.
If you need to bring something to attention, send me a private message. If you need to bring attention to another poster, send a message. In the end we should be able to form norms by engine code., and as well learn about oil performance. Just because you do not have a great UOA, please post it anyway. If we do not get a wide range of posters then the data will lack accuracy. Your information may be more important than the leaders posting the lower numbers. You may have more than one engine. If you would like to add a engine then put a number at the top. If I miss it then mail me and let me know. If you wish to remain anonymous you must send me a copy of the UOA, less name and address.
