TDI rwd transmission

Hi all,
Does anyone know how difficult it would be to convert a 2.0 TDI automatic trans to RWD? Or if it’s even possible? I have a conversion project And I’m considering a TDI 1.9 or 2.0.

You would have to have a 4motion or syncro transmission to get the rear output if you are keeping the transverse orientation. If you want a longitudinal orientation as in a JKU (I'm assuming based on your username), you could get a passat or audi transmission and weld the center diff. But they may be too long to still get the transfer case in place and have driveshaft long enough to work. Or, there are adapters for toyota and jeep transmissions to bolt the tdi to that would probably save a ton of time and work.
