Hey all,

First off, what kind of oil does the new 2011 Jetta TDI use? I just want to double check.

And second, where can I find this in the GTA, does anyone know? I want to be changing the oil by myself and I can't find it anywhere but in the States. And it has to be somewhere in the country - the dealerships have it after all...

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers

Voz, welcome aboard! The oil must meet VAG spec 507.00.

just go to precision tuning and get him to do it. 75$+tax and you are done in 30min. If you dont want to get it done there then you can just buy your oil and filter from there.

Now where's that popcorn....?
Nah..no popcorn needed.

People drag out the word "approved" here likes its gospel, when it is used interchangeably. Pg 266 and 272 in the 2010 manual use the word:

  • "Conforms" 11 times (1. To correspond in form or character; be similar.)
  • "Meets" 6 times (11. To satisfy (a need, for example); fulfill:)
  • "Complies" 3 times (1. To act in accordance with another's command, request, rule, or wish)
  • "Approved" 1 time. (yes, just once) (2. To consent to officially or formally; confirm or sanction)

when describing the proper oil to use. I call BS on the notion of "Approved".
