timing belt. my local shop, who is pretty good and trustworthy, readily admits he doesnt have a diesel guy in house.
the local vw dealership had the car for 6 months doing part 2.

I wouldn't have anyone except a guru do my tbelts. I would probably take the ferry across the sound and head into MA for decent service. I presume you already have access to this map.

yes, thanks. unfortunately, a number of those on the map are old listings and no longer in business. a byproduct of diesels and small shops going away.

Little bit closer, BMB Motorworks in Plainfield CT has been good to me. Have taken an ALH and a couple CJAAs there for TBs.

Who knows. I'm not sure if he's toyed around with anything newer than a mk5 yet, but it can't be that hard to figure out, except for the electric water pump deal.

yeah i've had no time. and no experience. @GTiTDi is an absolute guru tho. he can work on any VAG (or any brand for that matter) contraption with a motor in it...
