Hi, while driving on the interstate, my CEL came on. When I got off of my exit and started to accelerate again, the car accelerated very slow. When I checked for the error codes I got P0234 and P0722. I cleared the codes and the next time I drove the car it seemed normal. A couple of weeks later the same thing happened again. A few weeks later and it has happened again. I have changed all of the vacuum lines and the N75 feels like it is drawing a vacuum and the check valve on the vacuum line near the N75 appears to be working properly. Any suggestions as to what my problem is? I did not know if the combined codes point to any specific problem or fix. I do not want to got to the dealers as they tried to refuse work on my car due to its age (2001) and mileage (250000) at the time. They also damaged a door when working on it in the past and I am not aware of any independent auto shops that are VW / TDI specialists in my local area.

It is an automatic.

I looked at the threads that you suggested. I am not vey experienced in repairs so I am hesitant to try to work on the turbo, clean the vanes etc.

To determine if your vanes are stuck. While the car is stone cold and if you have small long arms you might be able to reach down to the turbo and see if you can move the actuator, or take the line off the n75 and use a mighty vac with a mirror watch for actuator movement. You said you cleared the codes do you have vcds? That would better help with p0722 code, because it could be loose connection bad sensor etc.

Not sure what the vcds is. I have a code reader if that is what you are asking. I will try to check the actuator as you have suggested. Then I will change out the N75 next, thought I would do the simple inexpensive things first. Could the N18 solenoid valve be part of the problem?

Being that the problem does not reoccur immediately once I have turned the car off and then use it again, does this suggest any problem as more likely?
