just to make it clear I have yet to purchase my TDI, but soon, real soon. I wanted to know do I need to register my car for the fest in order to attend? Or may I attend as a spectator without registering? and by registering am I entered into the Show? I may not be too apt to showing my car. And if I register do I have to attend all three days of the fest? because i plan on bring my family who might not be as enthuised as I am about VW and TDI's. please help me out in anyway possible
thanks

Scott, come join us.

Attend as little or as much as you wish. Talk with the dieselheads until you can't stand it anymore. Look at all the mods you'll want to do someday.

You register your car onsite for any judging. Registration here is just for the fest. All proceeds go to website maintenance, so just do it!

That's great to know How many people usually show to TDIfest? I have been to water fest and H20 and those are huge VW shows. Any comparisions?

Scott,
Welcome to TDIclub.
Your questions about the fest are good ones. Here is how it works.
Your registration registers you, your spouse and 1 vehicle. It does not register you to show your car. It basically is a fee (which goes to support Freds website here) which allows you to attend the fest. It also includes 1 cookout (pig roast) dinner and some surprises/goodies. If you DO have a TDI by then, it also allows you to attend the fest activities, schedule wrenching time (time is limited as space allows) there of course will be a show-n-shine, slow speed autocross (driving skills event), vendors there offering discounts/deals on their products, as well as other club activities such as pub lunches and an awards/banquet that will be held on Sunday. This is where the awards will be announced and handed out as well as all the donations that we have recieved for door prizes and as raffle items will be raffled off.
If you have any further questions, please don't hessitate to contact myself or Ed.
Thanks and we hope to see you at the 2005 TDIFest.
Later,
Jeff

The deadline to register is basically the day before the Fest. But we REALLY, REALLY appreciate the early sign ups. It helps us plan for adequate facilities, food, etc. It also provides us with some cash to make necessary deposits related to the Fest (buildings, food, banquet hall, park fees, etc.)

I WILL make this comment...I highly reccomend signing up early. If everyone waits till the last minute, there is going to be NO WAY we can guarantee items such as t-shirt, banquet meals, name badges, etc. can be there. There is just NO WAY. We need to give these folks at LEAST a two week notice. Anything after that is a roll of the dice. After talking to several t-shirt suppliers and the banquet hall, two weeks is a MINIMUM. Keep that in mind folks. Later, J
