Wonder if Frisco Auto Parts would be interested in being involved? They might do discounts or group buys, can't hurt to ask. Was just in on the weekend, got a rad for $210 & front rotors for $34ea + tx cdn$$$, and excellent customer service too.

Finally a Canadian festival that is only a 5 hour drive from Montreal! This is great, we have a good group here in Quebec and Im sure we will all be going to this one.

Cool.

Can't wait to see what my Golf can do on the track. May need to get some new tires. Not only that but Mosport is nearby.

Did someone want to contact Pfaff's up in Newmarket or Owasco?

That sounds excellent, the best thing would be
meeting fellow TDIers, as i recall my experience
this summer in Montreal, TDIers are a fine group of people, the best in the crowd.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Actually, Mosport is a few hours east of where we'll be. We're working with VW of Canada so we'll see what dealers we get - we've got a number of them that people are really happy with so...

Toronto Motorsports Park is actually located about an hour or so west of Toronto. We're getting a road track to do timed laps. The road track does have a straight-away but we don't have access to the drag strip - it was already booked for a national event (I forget which one).

I haven't noticed anything about Big K Fuels. Are they still the only ones to offer Biodiesel in the GTA? I do know they only sell to companies right now and not the public yet, but if they knew about hundreds of TDI cars in one place, they might want to have a presence, like a big tanker!?!?

My concealed weapons permit was valid in the Great State of Michigan, however, my Shotguns and Shells will most certainly be welcome in the great land of Canada!
Not to mention the return trip home, minus shells, with guns and ducks!

Cool!
And don't forget that the beer is stronger/cheaper/better (?)

and that possibly goes for the people here too!!
(cheaper!!?!)

Apart fron Hamilton presenting an image like something out of Mordor to those driving in on the Queen Elizabeth Way, it's got a lot going or it. Plus, there's plenty of places to toodle off to, St. Catharines - Port Dalhousie (my sister-in-law owns the best seafood restaurant in the region,) Niagara-on-the-lake (Angel Inn is fabulous) And the escarpment is one, long string of wineries. Bring a designated driver!!

Looking forward to it!!

Is it too early to nominate people for the service award, etc?? If not, I'd like to nominate HermTDi. He stayed at my house until 12:30 Sunday morning, and had been working/helping since 8:30 Saturday morning. In addition to my comments, everyone else I have spoken to about him, has had a positive experience. Thanks

Hey those dates are on my birthday (the 31) maybe you guys will all chip in and chip my tdi so I can get back to Newfoundland a little quicker and not have to take the ferry across but fly at a low altitude across the gulf

Im going to try and be there, would like to meet all you fellow TDI'ers. Have friends living in the big TO area that have been after me to come up and if is probably cheaper to drive now then fly.

As far as cost I was shocked when it only cost me $220 round trip to fly to the last fest from Floridia

In retrospect tho... If my car was actually running then I would have much rather driven it up than fly... But bumming rides was cool too

Check out this site.. http://www.race2000.com/

They are just outside of Toronto, and it would be a blast if we could get them to open up for a bunch of TDI'ers who would want to take the one or two session packages.

There is a spot that says they have special rates for 6 or more people...

Just tossing this out to see if there is interest in it.

Drive ON!

That's just "up the road" from my place. About 20 minutes. It's not near where we plan to be for TDI Fest so I'm not sure it will be feasable. I'll add it to the list of things to investigate as "other" events but we'd prefer to keep everyone together on the events.

Mosport is about 100 km east of Toronto, and current plans are to be at Cayuga, which is about 120 km southwest. The Bridgestone racing school is supposed to be pretty good, but $ $ $ ! ! !

Once plans and schedules get a little more firm, I have some ideas about the track day. I know there's people out there with autocross experience, and I've been around Cayuga quite a few times myself (although only on two wheels). We should be able to get some sort of instruction going but it depends on how many people are interested in doing that (EVERYONE should) and how many people are qualified and available as instructors (that's the hard part).

It was just a thought, and well, maybe it would be something for people who show up a day or two early, or stay an extra day or so afterward.. It wouldn't need to be on the exact days of the fest.

The autocross sounds interesting too.. what ever works out best!

Great work on the toronto proposal, i do not have the power point to see any details although i'm getting the idea this is cayuga international dragway park regional road 8.
i have posted some local information.
Great location mins from the north shore of lake erie, 40 mins west of fort erie/falls & 35 mins
south of hamilton.

This place rocks on race days with local engine builders well known in the nhra, and great concert promotions on the long week-ends, with lots of room to stretch your legs out.

Driving in from the west hwy. 6 south and from the east hwy.3 ,watch your speeds on these two roads, keep max 10 km over the limit no problem.

the closest vw dealership is hendersons in hagersville pop. 5000. Mel is on main st.
ph. # 905 768-3359 after hours 3796/1078
Cayuga tourist information centre ph# 905 772-5954
I think anyone making the trip will find this a great place for a vacation week, there's loads of local beach's for a morning burst and lake bath, well its what i prefer and a nature biosphere at long point, lake erie, personally i prefer port dover 15 min southwest for smoked steelhead or yellows your choice, fishing is great with downrigers there, or at feather stone point mins from C.I.D.P.
Maybe i have given somebody a better view from where i see things.
