The oil cooler is part of the assembled long block if you look at the parts list online. Plus the design of the motor makes the oilcooler literally a part of the long block. I was just going to take then to court because they have cost me thousands out pocket that should have been covered by them. Been side tracked butits on my list. Even there warranty dept said it want covered because if they ordered the long block it doesn't come with oilcooler. Welp via their own parts list thats false

There are just too many to list....
Some VAG engines (long block) come with the oil cooler, some don't. There does not always seem to be anything that specifies one way or the other, I think it just depends on how it gets built out. I've gotten about a dozen brand new EA888 engines in the last few years, and they always vary as to how they are assembled as far as what is included. I literally never know until I open up the crate and look.

I've yet to get a V6 (gas OR diesel) in to see, however.

The one BHW shortblock I got once had the complete oil filter housing, with the cooler attached, on it. Oil pan, crank sprocket, and a new headgasket came with it. But an ALH shortblock I got came just the block/crank/rods/pistons. No oil filter housing, no sealing flanges, no oil pan.

059-100-036-KX, none in the country, one en route to Jacksonville right now.

List price is $7627.10

Come with:

valve covers, injectors, HPFP, glow plugs, oil filter housing, water pump, oil cooler, vacuum pump, timing cover, oil pan, and of course block/crank/rods/pistons/heads.

Only things that get transferred over would be the EGR cooler, intake manifold, turbo, exhaust manifolds, and the belt-driven stuff.

That's a "reman" based on the X no?
Regardless, the guy trying to argue with VW should get an ETKA printout of that and start arguing with the dealer and corporate using it if that's the case.

Yeah, X means reman'd and would require the engine to be returned for core/rebuild.

Here's the official document, clearly showing that it is NOT covered.... no more speculations or arguments required.

I feel like this should be pinned for the Touareg forum just so there is no more threads or confusion.

Not sure I follow. Turbo ABA's "Warranty Information" link is to a statement of warranty term not scope. What am I missing?

You're missing the actual document which if I'm understanding correctly, you haven't downloaded.

Got it thanks. Problem is I cannot tell whether they know (or can or would admit to) any difference between a leak at (2) the oil cooler or (2) the EGR cooler.

just dont ever buy another vehicle made by this company again VW or otherwise. They are all cheap crap imho and there are better vehicles in the same price range like Mercedes for example. I would choose one over a vw or audi any day.
