1998 new beetle tdi engine and gearbox for sale incl. all ancil. driveshafts, ECU and engine loom, intercooler, gearlinkage etc.
Complete out of undamaged car thats having a 115pd & 6 speed box fitted + an upsolute of course! Unit has done 24k miles from new by me and has had oil changed every 5k miles.
$2500 incl. shipping to docks at New York.

sorry Percy, no can do! if I can't sell the unit I am looking for a car with a dead engine or a stolen/recovered minus unit as salvage and will fit in that.Hope you get what you want, how about buying both and you sell all the items you don't need, probably a better market over there than here?

Does anyone know of a rear drive tranny that will work with the TDI? I'd like to turn the engine north/south and put it in a street rod.

Old Volvo diesels have a 6 cylinder engine that is made by VW.

Presumably if the trans mates up to a VW 6 cyl version of Rabbit engine, then it will mate up to a TDI.

If you ever do this then let me know, as I want to know if Volvo diesel trans is the same as a Volvo 2.7 V6 gasser trans

(Reason: Volvo V6 motor is the same as that used by Peugeot 505 and 604 and big Renaults, if so then Peugeot rear wheel drive trans (504, 505, 604) maybe will mate up with Volvo /VW 6 cyl turbo motor or 5 cyl TDI, giving a 504 coupe or 604 limo 6 cyl turbo diesel or 5 cyl TDI)

It's almost like he wants to sell something but not wanting to answer any questions regarding his product. "Just buy it from me"..."don't ask me about it unless you buy it" I build alot of street rods with a wide variety of engines. I don't like using Chevy small blocks like everyone else, and prefer to use unusual/cool engines in my projects. Thaks for the Volvo/VW sugestion, I'm going to check into that.
