Question does the EGR have to be physically removed from the system and add block plates or can we just delete it off ECU

You do not need to physically remove either of the EGR systems, the tune will turn them off, however if you delete the DPF you will need a plate to close off the low pressure EGR that must be removed

You just install a plate on the inlet to the EGR cooler where the low pressure EGR filter tube connected. That's it. The rest is software. You don't need to mess with anything else on either of the EGR systems.

OK.... one more time.

There is a tube, with a little filter made in the middle of it. It connects via a little band clamp to the down pipe of the DPF assembly, then the other end has a 2-bolt flange that attached to the EGR cooler. You put the block off plate on the EGR cooler where that flange from the EGR filter tube attached.

That's it. That's all you do related to the EGR systems. Done. The rest is in the software. It's really not that complicated.

You say "they" removed the DPF, then you say you are doing it yourself. So which is it? Or are you one of those they-thems?

Also, this is sort of what the EGR filter tube looks like:

Low Pressure EGR Filter (CBEA)(CJAA) 1K0253120B | IDParts.com - Diesel Parts

That's from the CJAA engine, but the CKRA is similar (the CKRA DPFs don't fail like the CJAAs, do, so they don't clog up those tubes, so nobody sells them, so I couldn't easily find a picture of a CKRA one.... but aside from a slight different bend, it looks pretty much the same).

Also question does the original catalytic converter come out of can we reuse heard we can cut hole in it income out all the carbon and build up and weld it back together instead of having to buy new cat

Pictures can be posted but you have to do it the right way. First they have to be hosted at a site and then the link to them posted here. This site has its own picture server under media. You can use that or any other one such as imgur. Do a search and you'll find the instructions here. It's been posted many times.

Take it to the VW dealership and they will show you how. They do it all the time.

Oh dear.... I'm really at a loss for words.

How did you decide to do this to your car? Normally one (would think) would know what these components even are, in the path to making the decision to delete them in the first place.

I don't know what your buddy does at his shop, I hope it doesn't have anything to do with cars.

The part you linked is the DOC/DPF assembly itself.

Part of me wants to think this whole thing is just a trolling by an EPA agent. That at least would make a little sense.
