tail light question

On a 2015 Passat there is a small hole in the side curtains to give access to changing the bulbs. My question is how to remove the side curtains to get access to the tail light wiring. How are the black plastic studs removed? They resist just poping out like most body studs. Do anyone know where the feed for the lights that are on the trunk lid brakes out of the harness? I would like to install diodes to give control of the lights to my motor home when towing the Passat and would like all 4 light connected when towing.

Yes there are several You Tubes that address the bulbs but I am interested in info on the wiring so I can control the lights from my Motor Home while towing the Passat. Historically VW has had the worst wiring habits of any car manufacture and the least accessible documentation so I don't want to just dive in without soe information before hand if possible.
