I've been using T6 5W40 and in other seasons I've had Euro 5w 40 Amsoil, in my Alh, I've noticed in my alh the T6 burns more oil than Amsoil, ppl may say Amsoil is more expensive but in the long run may even out, I used to swear by the T6 before but now im leaning more for Amsoil

Havent had any unusual consumption issues with t6 rotella in my jetta. Actually just changed the oil the other day. About a half quart low in a bit over 10k miles.

I burn like 1.5 to 2qts every 10K with T6, i only burn 1/2 a qts with Amsoil at 10K, yes i may need piston rings but im just making a comperison

LACK of oil consumption is actually a BAD thing in most diesels UNLESS you get a oil analysis done to rule out oil dilution....
In either case 1qt in 10k drop is pretty darn minimal...just about expected... double that wouldn't be bad ... since everything from fuel mix (high bio or diesel with more "heavy" chains tend to show more dilution since they are less likely to burn off once mixed) to DPF health (frequency of Regen) plays a role.
Just my 2¢

Well there will always be consumption even when TDIs are new or old, turbos leak no matter what, and also to put it in perspective here, this is actually a data that is hard to be accurate, driver habits plays a big role here, I've cracked a few intercooler hoses and I've seen TDIs dry as a dessert and other ocassions I've seen TDIs flooded with oil in the IC, Spirit drivers vs Granny drivers, so spirit drivers do not dump oil in the IC track, where Granny drivers do,, so definitely there will always be more consumption from Granny drivers.

timing (as in the tune timing) can vastly affect oil consumption as well as what its doing for boost on top of that, and then of course combine that with hardware issues/tolerances.. things can vary wildly
