More than I need, less than I want
St Ignace Michigan, a small drinking town with a fishing problem. They don't even have a stoplight, but they do host a handful of well attended events throughout the year.
Car show 2025, a Thursday cruise night, Friday parade, and 1040 cars registered for the Saturday show. A stretch of 2 miles of various autos and characters. I was surprised to find that there is an EV charging station. I didn't notice any EV's, but a few TDI's, including a black later model Sportwagen that I neglected to photograph. There were a couple diesels running around though, including these...

Music in the park, Mike Fornes. For those Gordan Lightfoot fans he might be familiar. If not, and if you are a Lightfoot fan, check him out if you ever get the chance.
Singing wise, he's no Gordon Lightfoot. Though he was a very close personal friend who stops between songs to tell backstories of Gordon's tunes and tales of his life. A very entertaining ex newspaper man and story teller, that phase of his show you won't be disappointed in.
He is the sole survivor of his tribute band. He will be singing, for the 15th year in a row, "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" at a private anniversary memorial service for the families of the crew that is still encased in that tomb in Lake Superiorr. He will also, for the first time, be performing at the Maritime Museum down by Detroit this year. The 50th anniversary of the Wreck, which went down Nov 10th 1975. I'm not sure if that will be open to the public or not.
We've seen him twice in Greenville for presentations on the Mackinac Bridge and the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. He met Gordon Lightfoot in dire straights at the marina in Mackinaw City and helped him out and the two spent some quality time together. By the sounds of it Gordon was very thankful and never forgot Mike.

This was the last sunset we saw there, tough place to leave. We had a great nature show early in the trip. Thunder and lightning hit simultaneously and lit the camper up like the roof was translucent. The echo of the thunder sounded like a bowling ball rolling across Lake Huron. It went on for a good minute.

The substation that feeds Mackinaw Island is a couple hundreds yards away. Not sure if that had something to do with it or not:unsure:
