Hello All, I would like to start sharing some useful small parts, installation aids, etc made for our beloved 3.0 TDI platforms.
While I include these parts in kits I sell, they are too simple and cheap to gatekeep.
My hope is that they will be useful to those fortunate few of us hell bent on DIYing and modifying our 3.0L diesels

(May 2024) - M14 (14mmx1.5mm) Threaded Caps for High-pressure Fuel Rails and injectors.

STEP model - Thingiverse
STEP model - Google Drive

When removing intake manifold, you must remove crossover rail on 2nd Gen engines which creates the risk of dust and FOD contamination of the high pressure fuel system, especially considering how many dusty hoses, harnesses hang over them that need to be moved to complete the work.

Also useful for protecting injectors.

As they are essentially disposable installation tools, virtually any material can be used, including PLA, however, PETG (and of course, nylon) are better choices due to their compatibility with diesel fuel.

Will work in inferior common rail diesel applications as well e.g. BMW diesels and 2.0 TDIs.

For FDM Printers:
Nozzle Size0.6mm max
Infill>=15%
Layer Thickness<=0.35mm
Supports NeededNo
MaterialPETG preferred, PLA OK.

For SLA Printers:
Infill>=15%
Layer ThicknessDoesn't Matter
Supports NeededNo
MaterialABS-like preferred

(May 2024) - Adblue Plug for SAE 1/4" (6.3mm) Fluid Quick-connect

STEP model - Thingiverse
STEP model - Google Drive

When deleting Adblue/SCR system on 3L TDIs, most owners do not remove the line running from the Adblue tank to the injector at the downpipe.
Leaving this line open may result in the remaining fluid suddenly leaking all over your floor and crystalizing.

This parts plugs into the SAE 1/4"/6.3mm quick-connect to eliminate the risk of leak. Simply install the plug, zip tie the line somwhere safe, and forget about it!

The barb is designed to require no supports on FDM printer.

This will work for other TDI applications besides the 3.0 TDI.

Materials with decent rigidity and moderate temp rating, as well as compatibility with urea water solution is required. I am quite fond of CF-PETG from atomic filament. That stuff is easy to print and stupid strong without requiring enclosure.

For FDM Printers:
Nozzle Size0.6mm max, 0.4mm or 0.25mm recommended
Infill>=75%, 100% preferred.
Layer Thickness<=0.1mm
Supports NeededNo
MaterialPETG, ABS, ASA, Nylon

For SLA Printers:
Infill100%
Layer ThicknessDoesn't Matter
Supports NeededNo
MaterialABS-like or better

lol nice insult to the "inferior 2.0 liters diesels".
