sunroof rattle

I have a new 2002 Golf GLS TDI (500+ miles). After the first few days of driving I started to notice a rattle coming from the sunroof area, right behind my sunroof control

. As I drive more I *think* its getting worse (unless its just annoying me more) before I run it into the dealer has anyone had this problem before?

I had a similar rattle on my Jetta, and it was the clips for the sunroof manual release compartment cover. Remove the rectangular cover, and bend the clips a small amount towards their latching position. It solved the problem for me.

Thanks Rob, it turns out to be a bit more complicated for me, but the same general problem. It looks like one of the clips has broken free from the plastic holder, im debating whether to just superglue it or have the dealer take care of it. I have a piece of trim at the back hatch that popped out and wont pop back in as well, and I know I have to get the dealer to look at that. I am thinking I will have them take care of both problems.

If I were you, I would have the dealer fix it. A new car should not have these problems. Glad that you found it.
