Hey guys, noticed others have done this too, but wanted any opinions of asking price for our 2003 TDI Jetta wagon. I love this ride, but we are moving abroad in February and can't take it with, so my loss will be someone elses gain!
Ok, the scoop- '03 Wagon, 170,000 or so miles, 5spd transmission, clean condition, reflex silver. No mechanical issues that I know of, drives well.
GLS config, heated leather, moonroof alloys etc. Diesel Geek Skidplate (that thing is the best $300 I have ever spent!), Frost heater block warmer. No seat damage, shifter boot is a little scrappy, no dogs.. The back passenger window switch is broken. We had it diagnosed, but they did not have the part available when they dug into the door. Since we are over 200 miles from the nearest dealer, we have not yet had it taken care of.
In March our timing belt destroyed itself (at 80,000 miles since last replaced.... what's with that?) and required the usual full head replacement/ pulleys/ water pump/ belts etc, done at Capilano VW in North Vancouver BC (We were on our way for a ski trip when it died!)- can recommend them for service btw. They also decarbonized the turbo and other components while there, which interstingly solved the occassional turbo overboost error we had been experiencing now and again. They also replaced the back brakes/ discs. Front shocks were replaced last year. Tires are good and it comes with a set of mounted studded winter tires. Throw in the yakima rack and mounts.
No collisions (unless you count my wife backing into the bumper in the drive 2 years ago... repaired by the insurance company!).
Thats about it. Seems like mid $6K would be reasonable given miles- thoughts anyone? (and before anybody asks, yes, that was about what the timing belt epic fail cost to get back on the road...... )
