My TDI on the way to Alaska in 2014 (ALH engine). It made another trip in 2016.. Total miles for both trips was over 25k and about 30 days each.

Below, downtown Dawson Creek, BC at Mile 0 ..... this was in 2016 which was our 9th trip to Alaska driving a VW Vanagon.

My favorite road trip was Route 66. ive done Trans Canada Highway in 2 segments (Winnipeg to Toronto, Winnipeg to Vancouver) as ive posted in a few other threads. The Winnipeg-Vancouver route was the same year i did PCH (missed the drive through redwoods (and Crater Lake due to time issues). With PCH, you can take 10,000 photographs and it wouldnt be enough. But the history of Route 66 IMO makes it my favorite. The different routes over the years, the novelty of the trip, and the numerous 'attention getters' (Blue Whale in Catoosa, an old swim hole when A/C was a luxury), Chain of Rocks Bridge (built with a 22 degree turn mid-river), Winslow, AZ ('standing on the corner), and the concrete teepee hotels in Holbrook, AZ and San Bernadino, CA (stayed in the SB one, awesome) just to name a few. Takes about 12-14 days to see as much as possible. Carthage, Missouri, for example, I stayed in the Boots Court Motel. Aside from having the WiFi, there was no TV and only a radio (am/fm to make up for it lol). Lots to see by state. Google 66 for one of the 8 states and see what ya like. Stay safe, stay well.

Moje TDI na cestě na Aljašku v roce 2014 (motor ALH). V roce 2016 podniklo další cestu. Celkový počet mil pro obě cesty byl přes 25 tisíc a každá trvala asi 30 dní.

Dole v centru Dawson Creek, BC na míli 0 ..... to bylo v roce 2016, což byl náš devátý výlet na Aljašku s vozem VW Vanagon.
