Hey everyone,

I wanted to share some exciting news with the TDIClub community. Anchor Motorworks is growing! Many of you know us from our small shop in Sunrise Beach, Missouri, where it’s been mostly a one-man operation up to now. That little shop has been packed full of projects—VW TDIs, Audis, Porsches, oddball diesels, and plenty of European cars that keep things interesting.

But it’s time for a bigger space. We’re officially moving into a new multi-bay shop in Laurie, Missouri, and to kick it off we’ll be hosting a Grand Opening in the beginning of November. Exact dates and details are still being finalized, but we want to get this on your radar now.

What you can expect:

  • Food trucks – come hungry.
  • Free coffee – because what’s a car meet without it?
  • Cars, cars, and more cars – especially TDIs, Euros, and the quirky diesel builds we all love.
  • A chance to see the new shop and connect with fellow enthusiasts.

Whether you’re local to the Lake of the Ozarks area or feel like making a drive, you’re invited. Bring your TDIs, your odd diesel swaps, or just yourself to hang out and talk shop.

Stay tuned—once the dates are locked in, I’ll update this thread with specifics.

Looking forward to seeing some TDIClub faces at the grand opening!

Update to this. We are having our grand opening November 8th. Will have an impromptu euro car show with free coffee and doughnuts and a couple of food trucks.
Everyone is invited!

Is it pronounced like " vair sigh " in MO, or like " ver sales " as they do in KY?

Ver sales like Kentucky. They say that we aren't in France, so they use the redneck pronunciation...

I hope it turns out well enough to do an annual show. I’d love to check it out but can’t make it
That is what I'd like to do.

Congrats! Great to see you make this step and growing ahead. Good news for anyone in your area to have your shop as a resource, and hopefully an exciting new chapter for you and the business too.

Love it that you're making a gathering space/event for the community. Need more opportunities like this for people to get together, and having a business host it is a great way. I wish more businesses saw the benefit of deepening ties with the communities they serve this way.... It's an opportunity for everyone. We have been trying to build more ways around our area up here lately for like-minded enthusiasts to meet up a few times a year in person but it would sure be easier if there were a local business supporting and helping host such events. Unfortunately too many businesses don't see the upside, and view it as just a hassle and time suck to engage with the general public. That's a shortsighted perspective in my opinion, great to see what you are getting going, and hope it comes back around to you with more word of mouth and good vibes!

Cheers and good luck!
