Doing a 5 speed swap.

Trying to get the starter out and after about a hours worth I was able to get it out of the crank side. I cannot for the life of me get the whole bolt out of the bell house side. I had my impact on it and a helper putting pressure on it and the threads just wont get close to the transmission side housing.

If I am removing the transmission can I just leave that like that until I get it out of the car or is there a clearance issue with that?

So, I'm guessing you're working on a mk4? They're a little bit different. Could you explain what is happening? Is this on the automatic or the manual?
