I dropped off my old Jetta on Friday and picked it up Saturday. Shocks and struts all around, some bushings and ball-joints and e-brake cables and I was off again. Now for the re-inspection. Thanks Tom!! My wife enjoyed playing with your dog Turbo.

Tom, is there a local place I can pick up an air filter for my 2006 TDI Jetta? dealership wanted to charge about 55 bucks for the filter and labor.
Thanks!

It's about time for an oil change plus a few other things. You and turbo back in our neck of the woods?

Sorry to hear about Turbo, Tom. Hope he recovers quickly!

For everyone else, I can highly recommend Tom. He works hard, knows
his stuff inside and out. A great asset to the community.

I am saving up for some work here this late summer or fall...

Welcome back Tom
My oil light is flashing. This just occurred yesterday. I drove about 5min got on the highway then the oil light started flashing. I checked the oil level and it was fine but I noticed tiny bubbles. I filled it w some oil. Got on the highway and after 5 min oil started flashing again. temp is ok. What could this be?

I also noticed that I have not had to add any oil in the last 4 to 5k Miles I usually add about 1/2 quart or so every 3k miles.

Car drives fine. Lots of zip.

Can you also pm me your current cell number

The real deal mechanic

Tom sorted out a turbo limp mode problem in 30 seconds after mechanics (who I trusted at my local shop) hadn't been been able to sort out for 6 months. He also tuned things up with a few tricks of the trade that only come to those with long experience on these engines and identified mundane issues that I hope to sort out myself. I received a real education and am looking forward to the next 200k miles on my engine. Tom's the real deal!!

On Saturday Tom did the whole deluxe timing belt (from Aaron) install, installed the Frank06 cam plus lifters, swapped out the two top gaskets in the injection pump (it was leaking and one of the gaskets was obviously the culprit upon inspection), and pointed out a bunch of little problems and wrestled with my old, oldman intake (which won't go back onto the turbo securely).

Turbo seems fine and happy as well...!

Tom, many thanks for recommending Allen Bristow for the heavy work. He's going to wrap up the work next month with a new clutch. Engine runs great. It's great having two fantastic TDI mechs local...and a hellofalot better than the ripoff dealerships!
