Hey Tom...welcome back! I can't believe that Turbo got tired of the beach. My pup would get tired of the beach about the same time she would get tired of bacon wrapped in sausage...:D

Last week, I took my car to "Ninedee" for a Timing Belt.

Tom is ...

- Knowledgeable and Skilled
- Methodical and Meticulous
- Honest and Fair
- Personable and Courteous

Tom was very patient with my questions and he pointed out several things for me to keep an eye on. I will definitely be back for more work in the future.

Thanks Tom!

The local area just had a 5.9 earthquake and nothing seems amiss around here. Wonder what it's like downtown in Stafford ? Hurricane Irene gets here around Sunday. This is an interesting week.

Yep, felt it up here in Manassas. Enough to evacuate our building. Epicenter was 25 miles East of Charlottesville, about 4 miles deep. It was felt all the way down in South Carolina, and up to NYC!

BTW, thanks for the help on the car the other weekend, Tom!

I never did read that thread you emailed but I'll get to it. I've never tried to repair what you are asking me to do. If you're comfortable with driving down here and letting me experiment with your car, pm me. With all the mods you've done to your car I can't imagine why you don't try to repair it yourself.

Hey you don't want to do the job so be it. I sent you what you wanted weeks ago and I don't work on any cars much anymore unless it is someone broken down and needs the help. Have had 5 back operations and broke 3 of the fusions done on my back so bending and twisting is not my bag. Looks like you got all the work you want down there so I will not bug you anymore. I will get it down next trip up the NH to the Ho5G There is a shop up there who will do it in about an hour and it will be done right so no problems, wish you had just said you were not interested in the first place. Maybe you did and I did not see it. Sorry for the hassle.

Chill out everyone. He did ask me weeks ago if I wanted to do that job. I just never got around to researching what it is going to take before I said yes or no. I can certainly understand Birdman taking it to someone who will get it right the first time and I'm not positive that would have been me. I feel very uncomfortable accepting jobs that I know won't leave here correctly the first time. But, no guts, no glory.

OK lets let this go if needed I will delete offensive posts. Off line is the best place to do the complaining. WE have a like situation farther north. We all have our comfort zones. Lets realign and get on.

Turbo's getting ready to hit the beach in SC for Thanksgiving. We'll be leaving sometime around the 20th and might stay down there til after New Years. Plan now or we'll see you later on.

Thanks again for the 4000,000 mile timing belt change we did last week, every good thing I've read about you here is true, you did a great job and taught me a lot. Hope this weekend is nice so you can work on that roof. I'll see you when you get back. Enjoy the Holidays!

Howdee everyone, we're back. I wanted to have returned sooner but there was an issue with a 125 year old Live Oak tree that decided to take a nap on my roof down there. About that time my cell phone went through both the washer and dryer (and subsequently conked out) and my camera started acting wonky. All in all, it was a crazy ending to a working vacation. I'll go through the ton of messages and get back to everyone sooner than later. Thanks. Tom and Turbo the Wrench Fetcher

Took my 16 year old Passat to Tom. It had gotten to the point where it wouldn't get out of it's own way and was dangerous entering or staying with traffic. Tom did a very thorough analysis on the entire car, did fine work, and charged a fair & reasonable price. He took his time to explain everything, and is a all around nice guy. Car runs like a demon now. Thanks Tom!

Hi Tom,

What's your schedule like these days? Are you in town? I'm interested in having a few things done and would like to know when would be convenient for me to come down. I sent an email as well. Thanks!

+1 for Tom! I went to see him today for front brakes/rotors but they were fine and my front right wheel bearing and hub were in real bad shape. He had the parts, fixed me up, and sent me on my way. Tom's the best and well worth the 80 minute 1-way ride from Maryland. I highly recommend him for TDI work. jxf011 2000 VW Golf GLS TDI 5-speed
