HI All,

does anyone have the size of the o-ring for the b4 tdi?
I'ordered a few from FCPEuro, but they're not here, and Home Depot is close-by, and maybe they'll have something that will work

thanks,
Steve

The o-rings for the filter T adapter come with the filter unit itself, unlike the Mk4 which are on the T fitting. Every time you change the filter you get a new o-ring...or you should.

As for the size I can't say, it's a filter part and not part of VW's parts system.

Not true, they're sold separately. https://www.idparts.com/fuel-filter-ring-seals-a4b55-1j0198247-p-476.html

VW catalog doesn't show dimensions, but you can buy them at a dealer if you have one nearby.

Oops. My bad. I didn't read the '96-97 part of your original post. Steve is right. Those o-rings are part of the filter assembly. The ones I showed are for MKIV cars.

no worries... they're available on FCEuro for the A3/B4 filter, so I'm stocking up

So I have to ask, why do you need these? They're included in fuel filters and last the life of the filter.

Probably sucking air? Even with s new filter and o-ring, I sucked air. Replaced with a slightly thicker o-ring from a HF HNBR kit and the bubbles disappeared. I reused the o-ring on the next, new filter, and it’s still good.

Hi Todd,

That's exactly right... not sure why but getting bubbles, after checking (most??) other sources for air leaks...
what's this HF HNBR kit you are referring to?

thanks,
Steve
