Just picked up my new 2010 Jetta TDI this week! I've been reading that with a VAG-COM you can get the BT phone book options to work on the MFI and steering wheel menu. Anyone near south Mississippi that can do that for me or know where I can get it done? I'd appreciate any info you might have.

Hey guys, I'm new to the fourms and just wanted to pop my head in here. I'm new to the TDI scene but not the german car scene. I'm in the process of selling my 'a to b' car (Honda Accord) and looking for a TDI. I'm down in Mobile, AL but have worked over in Ocean Springs/Pascagoula at the Shipyard. I'll be scouting the fourms looking for useful info that I can gather to help me in the hunt for a TDI. If there's any advice you want to give please feel free to throw it out here, I'm all ears!

I'm really looking for a Mk4 Golf TDI 4door but really anything else will work for my needs. I'm looking for a TDI because of course the fuel economy and I am hoping to keep this car for many years after I pay it off and I believe a TDI will fit the bill. My dad is a diesel freak and if I can get a TDI I can get him to get one as well (father/son/grandson bonding). He wants to make his own bio diesel, he's already taken classes and researched it, knows alot about the subject, more than I ever will Anyways thanks guys

Jeremy. if you do want to use Biodiesel. I would get a TDI with the ALH engines. they seem to like it the best. just read read read. there is all the info you need here. Good luck and welcome to the club

Bio in Mobile

Jeremy, using this link...http://drivealternatives.com/ i noticed there are 2 locations in Mobile that sell bio. any idea what grade it is (B5,B20,etc.).
i'd like to get some to use as an additive, maybe even try a tank.

From what I know, the Shell station on Airport near I-65 had B20. Not sure if it still does. try calling them to find out. and there was at one time a Biodiesel distributor there a few years ago. I talked to them a few times. but dont know if they are still around. I dont fillup in Mobile since Diesel is cheaper in MS. and is the cheapest in Gautier. I dont know why, but it is.

I'm up in Vicksburg...'03 Jetta. Anyone know of any good VW mechanics in the Jackson area? Those guys at the VW dealership haven't got a clue!

I haven't met one yet. What do you need done? I did the Timing belt on my B4 Passat a couple times, but under supervision of someone more experienced. Not that hard, so I could probably pull it off on my own.

P.S. If you are interested in Biodiesel, I run www.msbiofuels.com - the site has quieted down since I got my job and haven't been making much, but theres good stuff there.

Thanks kook, I just havent been able to keep up lately. A tire tread in the road busted my head and turn signal glass on the drivers side, I lost a centercap that vw will not sell without purchasing the whole wheel, plus I'm still on borrowed time on my timing belt. She's bloodied but unbowed.
