I'm still in the hospital. I should be alright by Saturday. Probably won't be moving too fast though. You guys are all welcome to come down.
Woops... didn't realize he was still in.....aja8888 said:Robby got out two days ago and is on his feet (new thread here below). Whether or not this is still "on" at his shop has not been verified by him either way yet.

Rob, do you want to reschedule my intake swap? It's fine with me if you do, I don't want you doing anything crazy.runonbeer said:I'm still in the hospital. I should be alright by Saturday. Probably won't be moving too fast though. You guys are all welcome to come down.
Good to hear you're doing alright. I'll be down there a little after noon.runonbeer said:I'm in at noon. Already talked to Dave. All bets are off on me working. I'm gonna be sitting on my ass drinking beet, kale, & spinich smoothies. I can still point and talk though.
Sorry I missed the day Rob. I had to make an unexpected run to Dallas Saturday. Glad to hear you are getting past the surgery OK. I really wanted to see David's hot Jetta, too!runonbeer said:Thanks to everyone who came out. Guess I scared some folks off with my surgery.
We should do it again next year without unexpected internal organ failure precluding some semblance of of organization and planning on my part.
It was good too meet all you guys and see some crazy mods (I never get to see cars like those)!
Steve who?.. has the 3.0TDI TR??TDIinTexas said:Yes it was fun, thanks Robby for hosting this. We ended up staying until 9pm, I rolled into my stable shortly after midnight.
It was great to meet new faces, see old faces, talk diesel, talk projects, ride in Steve's new 3.0TDI Touareg, take some fast rides and just hang out together.
So, when are we meeting next? I should have my new house with new shop by the end of the month, maybe it can be at my place next time..

What a nice turbo it has also, gtb2260vk......
The fleet is gone already. He does still have both Caddys though.aja8888 said:No wonder he is selling his fleet of Jetta's and Golf"s (plus the old VW truck)!
Man that was fast! Maybe I'll put "project Jetta" up for sale soon if the market is that good...TDIinTexas said:The fleet is gone already. He does still have both Caddys though.

I'm glad we could help you out.Airgetcha said:Hey all
Just wanted to give a big Thank You to runonbeer for hosting, phatcyclist, TDIinTexas, Zook??? and 'someone from houston with an english accent I did not get his handle' for making me feel welcome. I only caught the very end as I had to work until 6pm. My barrage of Newb questions were answered patiently and with enthusiasm from just a small group still hanging out. I WILL have a golf TDI before the end of the year...hopefully sooner!

Running great; Had to pull the pump AGAIN and get it rebuilt AGAIN. Bought a bunch of tools and did all the work myself. Took care of all my oil leaks and replaced all the fuel lines, new check valves; Deleted that crazy mk2 rear water separator, and put in new injectors while I was at it. Cheapo ones, but they're new at least. Only real problem left is leaky power steering... but its been like that since I've had the car. You should still come out to the Draught House one week. Someone just picked up a MK6 Diesel in the group...runonbeer said:Sorry Jeremiah, I was hoping to send out an email. Perhaps we'll have another one this Summer with more of a TDI focus. This one was just sort of piggy backed on my shopmate's annual party.
How's the little golf running?
