Jay, I had a major setback, I had to have emergency back surgery, just now going back to work.

Thats why I haven't got back to you about going to the track, or about a GTG, I haven't done much at the shop and considered shutting down(except for fun).

It put me back 3-4 months and I am still hobbling pretty good. I was going to clean up and get more organizied.

Its all up in the air still.

I still want to get to the track when they open. One step at a time. Thanks. Randy.

Dang...sorry about the back. I definitely need you real healthy at the track so its just that much more fun. Guess we lost Pat...or did we lose Pat?

What kind of interest is there for a track day from everyone else?

I'd want to hit the track. But I would have to decide if I wanted to drive or ride...

Early-mid May is graduation for me, but i don't know what weekend.

We can go to the track in Feb, or latest March..We still maybe able to do a GTG a little after that.

Randy, hope your back is doing better. I had a hip replaced around Thanksgiving. I am back to normal now and that's good for an old timer like me! Keep us posted on any plans for a GTG out your way.

I fell way behind in getting my place presentable for a GTG, I haven't done diddly since the operation, except for Steve coming up last week end and helping me out big time..Thanks Steve, you guys have been very supportive.

I just dont know how far I will get in the coming months, I have so much to do. I can say this, I have had GTG's(trucks), and I will have some in the future as well. I still want to make it to the track, but probably wouldnt be a good idea. I want to be able to indulge i a couple of projects when we do this, and I can just barely stand for lengths of time(I look like i am drunk). Hang in there, WE are going to do this I promise!

+1 Randy, I'm up for helping out more as needed. I just need a lot of time to plan now that school is in session again... plus I don't have much free weekend time with a Saturday class .

Tony, good to hear all is going well with you and indeed the Austin/Spicewood area is awesome. I wish I could get a good job up there.

I'm all for a GTG near Austin! I've got folks visiting for the Old Settler's Music Festival 4/15 -> 4/18 so that weekend would not be my first choice, but before or after would be great.

I'm in. I have a set of Bosio PP520 injectors on the shelf (DBW calibrated). I'll bring them along, unless I put them into my car before then, in which case I will still be bringing them along
I'll probably also tote in a spare clean intake, a couple of Panzer Plates and maybe a timing belt kit or two? I can accomodate if anyone has a special request. Maybe a VE pump seal demonstration? I could show off the busted chain tensioner from my last Passat BHW balance shaft ugrade

as a side note, there will be a party/art show at my shop on April 10th. There will be BBQ, and hopefully some of my homebrewed beer (brewery under construction). The woman in the space next to me is an artist (and sign maker, she did all the signage for my shop) and hosts this party every year in conjunction with my shopmate's customer appreciation party. All are welcome. Directions on my website.

Jetta 97; I appreciate your persistence for keys. if you were further south of dallas .... say like conroe-ish, then we would already have met long ago. It is not the mileage but time issues for me...

This spare key is a valet model (black plastic rectangular handle) w/ red letters "JMA" on the front side and "HU-HAA.P" imprinted on back side. It opens the entire car, but since its not programmed, the car wont run after startup. so it "wants" to work...

pics from me are a snowball's chance for awhile... till tech support nephew gets here.

A gtg is still a good idea... runonbeer may be on to something, cuz he has a time & place ready to go... centrally located, too.

If we see on GTG I will do my best to get that key work on your car.
JMA is one of good aftermarket keys and it should have chip in it. But I will bring chip with me just in case if you need one in that key.
