I fill up about every three weeks. Last time I paid $5 a gallon, but prevailing prices were $5.40ish. That was about two weeks ago.

This morning I saw $6.899 at a Sunoco in town. Yikes.
Every three weeks? Dang, lucky.
I have to fill every week, but I guess I put on about 190 kms a day for work. My employer does pay some for mileage, very thankful for that right now.

At the beginning of the month most local stations were charging around $5.49/gallon, with a couple at $5.69. But while WTI crude oil has stabilized lately in the $100-110/barrel range, heating oil/USLD futures are down about 40 cents/gallon, and I'm seeing lower prices at the pump too. I filled up this afternoon for $4.97/gallon, and lots of stations are around $5.09.

At the same time, gasoline has risen pretty sharply, with RBOB gasoline futures up 40 cents so far this month and that is also reflected at the pump locally.

$4.69 for RUG and $6.39 for diesel at the Speedway. So far, since all this BS stated, I'm still paying less than .18/kWh, but they keep on predicting that'll go during the Summer.

6.49/gal at most major stations between Hadley and Worcester MA. Some small stations down at 5.75/gal. Something weird going on with supply and pricing. Enough of a discrepancy to start gaming fuel stops, which is almost never true around here.

Minor bonus in that summer fuel puts my PD mkiv Jetta at 51mpg for my state highway commute. Means a once a week fill-up instead of slightly more often. Gonna be a long summer if prices actually settle above 6.25/gal…

Didn’t quite need diesel yesterday, but I saw a Citgo with it for $6.299, so I filled her up. Most places around me are at $6.899.

At the same Citgo, rug was $4.799, and premium was at $5.599.

Dropped to $4.87 here. sown almost a dollar since my last fill.
Enjoy the brief respite from horribly high prices for diesel. I think prices will go back up in the next few months.

The Speedway is holding diesel at $6.39, but they raised RUG to $4.73. Correction, RUG went up to $4.85.

RUG is right around $5 at most stations here now, where Diesel is staying at $6.29 or so.

I have D2 delivered to my house (have a 275 gallon tank with a pump) and I asked my oil dealer yesterday about current pricing: $5.59/gallon delivered. Usually they're right around the same price as pump diesel. Tells me that someone is making some profit on diesel right now.

Down to $6.089 at the Citgo near me.

When I was in Georgia last weekend all the diesel prices were under $6, some places as 'cheap' as $5.199.

Diesel is 5.19 here in Versailles Missouri. Eldon, about 17 miles away has 4.99 diesel.

Put fuel in the Alltrack yesterday here in Reno and both gas and diesel 5.999/gal. Have broken the 2000 Golf TDI out of moth balls and am using as daily driver first full tank 44.5 around town and short freeway hops. That's with Malone stage 2 and Bosio 1019 nozzles. Thanks DBW for the install.

$5.99 a gallon at Arco in Silverdale, WA last week. I think Costco has it for $5.79 now.

Diesel dropped a dime around here. I paid $5.38 last night and it was $5.49 on Saturday. Trying to not let either vehicle fall below half a tank. May not save me any money but it keeps the heart rate down. I think rug was up about 15 cents but since the only thing that needs that is the lawnmower, I don't pay too much attention.

We're getting into the season when high fuel temperatures can affect engine performance and degrade fuel economy. So it makes sense to fill up before your tank gets too low. Take advantage when you see a good price, even if it's just slightly lower than the others.

Since I got my Polar Fis, I can monitor fuel temps. I've wondered how warm is actually getting too warm? I think common sense says cooler is always better, and that it's really not something to actively worry about, but I still find myself wondering about fuel temps affecting the pump. Or like you said, performance and economy.

I think the highest i've seen is around 120 or 125? That was last year, late June, outside temp of high 90s, after 5 hours of driving and I think a quarter tank.

I'm not sure if my car has a fuel cooler or not. If I remember right my ALH Jetta did not, but my Dad's BEW Golf did.

Louisa County Virginia...was shocked to see $6.19 per gallon.
I didn't need to see that. We're roadtripping from Kansas City on Sat Jun 25 (local D2 $5.009 - $5.499) to Perryville Md for family reunion, coming home starting Fri Jul1, taking mostly I70, but taking Pa Turnpike to about Lancaster.

I don't worry about this. I always wait for the low fuel light to come on before refueling.
I usually do too. But yesterday when the fuel level was very low, the engine performance just didn’t feel right. I thought maybe the intercooler was getting heat soaked, but I filled up soon after the low fuel light came on and the fresh colder fuel made everything right again.

I'm heading the opposite direct middle of July. From NC to Iowa for RAGBRAI. I also have customer calls lined up along the way so my boss said he'd cover my mileage. SWEET!

Virginia is a good State to skip around for a variety of reasons and Maryland had fuel tax relief recently which ended but may start again soon. Costco in Charlottesville is at 5.49 per gallon if you head that way. They are talking about lifting the fuel tax here again but thus far it has not gained traction.
