I didn't see what the unleaded was, but in Versailles MO diesel is 2.39 per gallon. It's been going up...

Are we thinking the south texas weather issue are going to impact refinery output/supply/price across the country?

Paid 2.74 for diesel and 2.51 for 88 octane yesterday at a QuikTrip. Filled the car ALL the way, up as I know they will only rise from here. Been on a steady climb since early January:rolleyes::cautious:

3.69 at the local speedway, it's the cheapest in the city/town I am usually in. 25 minutes away there is a casino that is apparently at 2.90 for California that is crazy.

Where I filled up yesterday. Most stations are charging $2.699-$2.899 for diesel today. Two weeks ago I paid $2.919 for some premium super-winterized diesel at Cenex when we were expecting -20°F, but temperatures have warmed considerably into the +20°/+40° range so gelling is not a critical issue.

But that's the price for a liter, so almost $6.00 for a gallon. Most people don't realize how good we have it here.
$1.50CAD/L = $5.68CAD/gal(US) = $4.45USD/gal.
So, yes - more expensive, but not quite as egregious as $6/gal. Also, had to go to emergency room at hospital a while ago; left without paying a dime because...Canada. :p

$1.179/L here on Vancouver Island; RUG up to $1.409/L

well, CAD $1.50 per litre, is not as bad as Europeès prices, but not as good as the USAs.

link to graph, over at OntarioGasPrices

If you look on the crude oil pricing, this value has been going up since November 2020, with little change in the last few days.

The more recent surge in prices seems to be more about the recent winter freeze mixed with a helping corporate anxiety over the new administration's fossil fuel policy. We may a see a little dip after refineries recover capacity, but I believe an ongoing concern over future profits will keep fuel prices up and probably climbing.

Distillate inventories declined 9.7 million barrels in the week ending February 26th, and gasoline inventories fell even further. So the deep freeze in Texas and the shutdown of refineries appear to be the biggest reason for rising fuel prices.

Yes, the deep freeze had an effect on valving and moving of material but the ultimate blame for the current spike in fuel prices is directly related to the one year shutdown of the global economy. 3 of the 4 major refineries in Texas were shutdown for extended times over the last 12 months since no one was going anywhere. Remember those extremely low prices mid-summer? My own records showed diesel as low as what I use to pay just before the ULSD switch over, so back to 05-06. We are now making up the difference.

RUG is touching $3.00/gal here is SoFlo. D2 is right there with it.

The rate at which prices have been marching steadily up doesn't match other normal weather events. I could see low inventory being an issue, but then I also see producers best interest is for prices to climb and use weather/pandemic shut down/ policy changes as excuse.

What ever the reason I don't like how quickly the prices started rising and it's affecting budgets.
