Jumped back up to $3.25 yesterday.
also depending on if you have a US based credit cardIdling around 1.50/L to 1.55/L depending on where you are in/out of the city.
It was pretty significant when we were in Wallaceburg. Exchange rate was something. like 73 cents on the dollar. We didn't know for sure until the transactions came through on the bank statements though. We both ate breakfast at The Black Goose for $18 and change, as it turned out. Cash tip of course.I've thought about that since I travel to the US alot and was curious if it was actually worth it or not haha.
If you can get US dollars at a better exchange rate to pay it off, then yes.So its actually cheaper to get a US based credit card rather than using my Canadian one over the border.
It definitely was for us when we were in Canada. I didn't buy fuel because I didn't know how it was going to play out, the actual cost wasn't noted on the receipts, just the posted cost. The credit card company did the computing of the exchange rate and that adjusted cost showed up on the CC statement, not receipts. I think fuel costs would have been close to even. The exchange rate would be something to keep an eye on. We purchased everything we could with cards and it paid off. I don't know what rates normally are, but 70 some cents on the dollar is what we paid. It might not work that way for you with funds coming from a Canadian bank. You might want to check into that.So its actually cheaper to get a US based credit card rather than using my Canadian one over the border.
