I am currently paying $5.16 an imp. gallon here in Atlantic Canada so you guys should consider yourself lucky. Also biodiesel does not exist around here either.

Throughout most of SoCal, the lowest-price stations are charging $3.19-3.25 a gallon for #2. And there are enough of them, that no one needs to pay more than $3.30.

I don't know what gasoline is selling for -- I don't pay any attention. But I think it's about 5-10 cents more than diesel, except at the places that really aren't trying to sell any diesel.

$2.88 lowest here in Seacoast NH. I may take the long way home today to see what my favorite new Mobil station in Barnstead is registering. Seems like D@ has slipped back even or above RUG $$$ :(

Funny, I seem to be getting better mileage on the 550p stuff...maybe i am hitting right when the engine is going through another breakin milestone...about 18k...

The Gulf by me just went from $2.81 to $2.79.
It's now at $2.77 and there's still no sticker on the pump other than the #2 diesel sticker.

$3-3.05 here. Diesel is within a few cents of gasoline right now-saw 3.03 for gas and 3.06 for D2 this weekend.

Lowest price I've paid since April 15th

The Valero station on the east side of the freeway (I-5 at Birmingham, between Del Mar and Carlsbad) is still charging $3.399 for diesel... probably not selling very much. Lots of local stations are charging $3.07-3.19.

The good news I saw tonight was that now diesel and gas are priced the same. The bad is that it's because gas has gone up, not because diesel has gone down. 3.13 on Touhy, north of O'Hare.

On the NY Mercantile Exchange, unleaded regular is now almost 30 cents/gallon more than home heating oil. That equates to about 20 cents/gallon more than #2 diesel at the pump. And even with regional supply variations, in almost no part of the country should diesel cost more than unleaded regular.

Just to update this after the holiday weekend and since I just got back from my 1600 mile round trip to Baltimore.

2.79 at Chevron in Columbus, GA, on 6/30
2.75 at Chevron in Warfield, VA, on 7/1
2.96 at Shell in Archdale, NC, on 7/5

I noticed that a lot of places are charging .06 more for credit vs cash, but just on diesel, not gas. Anyone know what that's all about? I thought it wasn't legal to do that anymore.

BTW, I averaged 49.987 mpg on the trip, and that includes some nasty stop-and-go traffic in Atlanta and D.C.

$2.85 yesterday at a Shell in downtown Minneapolis. A number of stations in the Twin Cities area were charging $3.09 for gasoline. At a Conoco in Hinckley, MN yesterday: $2.99 for unleaded, $3.05 for diesel.
