Henrick, you've never seen a truck/lorry with common rail diesel?
This, along with the several dino 15w40 505.00 oils, should not be used under -10C without being plugged in.
Exactly, it's the ubiquitous dino diesel 15w40, and one of the better of 'em.What's so special about this stuff, Bob? Its been around forever and can be found anywhere they sell oil.
Too much ash for a European commonfail, but in my modern VE would work well depending on expected low temps or block/oil heater. Has even worked well in PDs.Well, I thought we were discussing use of this oil in a modern VW TDI...
My status as "Oil Wanker" says it all.Oil Porn.....you guys really have far too much time on your hands don't you?
My status as "Oil Wanker" says it all.
Some good ideas, but this IS a family site.C'mon Bob...oil porn? Really? Shouldn't the label be peeling a bit, or perhaps a shot from under the bottle?
...much too tame to be called porn...
...and yes...most of us seem to have too much time on our hands...or at least too much time devoted to this car obsession...
I'm curious how the pistons, cam/followers, rings, and turbo look in situations like that.Bob, I've posted this story a few times.
A couple of years ago, I did a TB job on an '03 JSW TDI. It has just under 120k miles on the original belt.
Anyway, in discussions with the owner, I learned he had been using Chevron Dino 15w-40 for diesels from the first oil change. Now, at just under 140k miles, he says his engine still runs fine!
I happen to have some of that tooHey I use that oil in my 92 ECOdiesel!
Some Delvac 1 pr0n would be even better, that stuff makes me hot!
My dad ran Delvac 1 to around 20k intervals in his ALH.
: )
Interesting. "formulated to meet API..." "exceeds..." But nowhere is the API service stamp.
Is that a problem?Interesting. "formulated to meet API..." "exceeds..." But nowhere is the API service stamp.
I see "exceeds.....Volkswagen 505.01, 502.00, 505.00...."Interesting. "formulated to meet API..." "exceeds..." But nowhere is the API service stamp.
Sure is a BIG container. For those of you who are too young to remember .....this did wonders to your garage floor and anything else it touched.....
Yea, came from a BIG company (at the time). And it looks like someone was trying to take a bite out of the lid area.Sure is a BIG container.
