• The TDIClub classifieds section is a heavily trafficked section of the forum that encompasses want-to-buy (WTB) and for-sale (FS) threads for the entire world. Due to the demanding nature and fast pace of this section, it is imperative that you know and understand the rules. It is also important to remember that this is the only parts classifieds section.

Cross-posting and posting classifieds in the regional sections (except the dedicated thread in Ontario) is not permitted.

Multiple items should be sold in one thread. Make sure to provide a description for all items in your post along with pictures and prices. If you start multiple threads with individual items, they will be locked or combined at the discretion of the moderators.

Here is a quick outline of the classifieds section rules. If you don't follow these rules, you subject yourself to thread deletion, thread combination, infractions, or posting privilege revocation.

    Thread titles:
    • Put FS or WTB in your thread title. This will let other users know if you are selling or buying.
    • Briefly describe what you are selling. Thread titles have limited space. Be as descriptive, yet succinct, as possible.
    • Put your location in the title.
    • If space allows, put your price in the title

Title example (single item): "FS: 2004 Mk4/BEW cylinder head - Portland, OR - $500"
Title example (multiple items): "FS: MK6 fog lights, front bumper, headlights, grill - Detroit, MI"
Title example (car part-out): "FS: Mk3 Jetta parting out engine & interior - Dallas, TX"

    Thread text descriptions and pictures:
    • All for-sale threads must include pictures of the items that you are selling. One picture is sufficient, but multiple pictures with different angles will help buyers. A picture is worth a thousand words. If you don't know how to post pictures on TDIClub, see this thread: http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=286691
    • All for-sale threads must include a description. We don't charge per-word, so be as descriptive as possible. The more information you can provide, the easier it will be for buyers.
    • All for-sale threads must include a price. Auctions and bidding are not allowed. If you want to auction something off, use eBay.
No picture, no price, NO SALE!

    Thread maintenance/updates/bumps:
    • When you sell something, update your thread with "SOLD!" Moderators will close the thread and update the title.
    • If you have multiple items for sale, update your thread as each item has been sold. When everything has been sold, updated the thread with "ALL ITEMS SOLD!" Moderators will close the thread and update the title when all items have been sold.
    • If you bump your thread, please delete old bumps by clicking on EDIT and then deleting the old bump. This will reduce clutter in your thread and make it easier to read. It also makes you look less desperate.
    • If you drop your price, please update your first post in addition to posting the new price. If you would like the thread title changed, click on the report post icon and let a moderator know what you would like the title changed to.

    Moderator intervention and infraction points:
Moderators will be monitoring the classifieds section. If a moderator determines that you have not been following the rules listed above, corrections will be made and infraction points will be assessed to your account.

What is an infraction point? Simple - it's a system of keeping track of user behavior. A moderator can assign a point value based on the severity of the infraction, as well as an expiration date on the points assessed. If you accumulate a certain number of points, the system will auto-ban you for a predefined amount of time. The more points you accumulate, the longer your ban period will be.

One example of points is as follows: multiple threads will be combined into a single thread, with the number of infraction points assessed corresponding to the number of threads merged. If we merge four threads into one, then you will be assessed four points that expire in 30 days. When you reach five points, the system will auto-ban you for one day.*

*This is an example based on the current infraction system structure. We reserve the right to modify the infraction system at any time without notice or updates to this announcement.

Thank you for your cooperation, and good luck with your sales and searches! :)

Update: adjuster let me know it'd be $369 to buy it back, so that's the price.
Update 2: currently spoken for, will mark sold when the deals are all done (waiting on re-titling etc.).
Update 3: sold to @mrchill / Mike @ Kraftwerke. Thanks all for your interest and input.

---

Well, this sucks. Got t-boned the other day and the adjuster is coming Monday, but said to me on the phone based on photos that it'll probably be totaled. Still runs and drives, no leaking fluids, all electronics in good shape. Just had timing belt done at 220k, around 224k now. Clutch is supposedly a bit worn, engine runs great. Hearing something that suggests to me the front right axle/suspension is probably mashed up.

Once I get the final verdict from the adjuster, I'll update with price, wanted to put this up in advance in hopes that someone who has the time and tools might be interested in saving it or using as a parts car rather than going to a junkyard or something. Obviously would need to be towed.

Any questions, feel free to post/DM/whatever. If this isn't the kind of thing the community is interested in, I can take it down. Please let me know if there's any issue with this listing or if totaled cars aren't allowed etc... apologies in advance if I missed a rule.

It doesn't look bad. Was the front alignment affected? What else does it need besides a fender, 2 doors, and side airbags? All that stuff can be found on cars going back to 2006 or 2005 depending on the paint code. (Not asking for myself, just putting the questions out there)

Not sure re: front alignment. If that's something I can measure or estimate I'm happy to do so, in the very short drive from the accident spot to a parking spot, and then parking in my driveway, I didn't notice it seeming off and I tend to notice alignment.

The front passenger side wheel is rubbing against the splash guard.

I'm hearing something else from the front passenger side wheel as well, not sure what but is metallic and wheel speed. I'll try to take a peek underneath and see if I can see anything.

The front passenger window regulator has an issue, it wouldn't roll all the way up. Not sure if it's the regulator itself or just the skin that's blocking the window/regulator.

The front passenger side of the bumper popped out a bit but I didn't see whether it's just popped out and it will clip right back in or not.

Passenger side doors don't open all the way, front passenger side door doesn't open easily, needs a bit of a yank.

When closed, alarm doesn't arm. Not sure if that's a "feature" of being in an accident that prevents rescue from having to deal with the annoyance while breaking in to save you, or if something else is damaged. The dash does recognize all doors closed so it doesn't seem to be an issue with the passenger side door switches.

As far as non-accident related notes, there is some rust you'll see behind the splash guards in the front, but it's far less progressed than my three previous Jettas. The driver side window switch that controls the front passenger window has always been fiddly, easy fix that I just hadn't gotten to yet.

Here's another view that has a clearer pic of the damage to the rear quarter panel.

Maybe the brake shield, or some part of the fender you can't see.

The bumper probably has a busted plastic screw hole at the top corner. Not hard to fix.

2001 golf tdi 4 door auto now a manual, mine, 2000 golf 2 door M/T son's,daughters 98 NB non-TDI 2.0, 2003 TDI NB for next daughter, head repaired and on road, glutton for punishment got another tdi 2001NB,another yellow tdi NB , added an 06 NB DSG
Hate to see a car like that go.
I’d try to fix it.
My youngest daughters car was an accident car….. right front was hit ( an 03 NB ).
Replaced the whole front clip, pre-cooler , boost pipe, rh head light , head light bucket , driver side air bag, passenger side air bag, and the air bag controller. Parts was about $500.00 and I did the work myself…… she’s put about 110k miles on it since and it’s been about 10 years ago.

My son's JSW had similar damage (from a deer, of all things).

My guru (not far from you) was able to source correct color body panels from salvage yards and repair the car. The airbag replacements are a bit challenging, as salvage yards aren't supposed to sell them. And we had to have the seat belts rebuilt, as they have little tensioning charges in the reels. But he got it done.

Yours looks a little worse as there's work on the quarter panel as well. I predict that the repair cost will far exceed the value of the car. But if you like the car and want to keep it (as we did) it's worth it. After all, they're not making any more of these!

You're giving me all sorts of hope, haha. If you don't mind DMing me roughly how much that cost, I'd love to know. Your shop is definitely within AAA tow range...

That's some pretty bad rust behind the front fender. :(

Like others have said, it's definitely fixable. You could probably even live with some of the rear quarter panel damage, and then it works out to sheet metal replacement for body stuff (door skins, front fender). Of course the airbags and inside pieces too, but those can be sourced.

On a side note, @IndigoBlueWagon what rims and center caps are those on that JSW? I've been eyeing the steel rim look and that combo looks pretty slick.

I don't remember if the 2010 rear door still has a skin, or if it's welded on like the JSW rears. Maybe some yards still sell skins, but LKQ makes you buy the whole door now. In OP's case, he'd probably want the front anyway, if the crash sensor or window regulator need replacing.

Update: unfortunately I don't have the time to deal with this. If someone would like to save it, it's $369 and you'll need to trailer it or tow.
