The Jetta that I bought after joining this club is sadly incapacitated, taking up space on the driveway, & must be sold. 2001 Jetta TDI, 257000+ miles, dead battery, hood won't open. Was my daily driver from new in Nov 2000 til early 2018. Regularly serviced by DuPage Auto Werks in West Chicago, until we decided to stop spending money on it. Was smoking both black and blue, and I used it sparingly in 2018 for "back up rough duty".
It is a well worn Baltic green, with sunroof, Monsoon AM/FM cassette & CD, cold weather package, frost-heater style heater, 5 speed, AC, 50000 miles on replacement clutch.
Used but not abused interior, though dirty & dusty from being ignored. The battery died during the polar vortex, the hood wouldn't open, & circumstances forced me to basically abandon it on my own driveway. Definitely will need work.
Asking $550. Will include new fuel filter, two yellow 5 gallon plastic "jerry cans", original lightly used carpet mats, light bulb assortment, any other odds & ends I can find.
