so what am I doing wrong ? Is it because it is a Beetle? I thought a low mileage ALH was a good thing . Any pointers to make this more appealing? Any help would be appreciated Thanks

I don't think you're doing anything wrong. It's a decent looking car, that seems to have a good maintenance history. It's got relatively low mileage for being a 14 year old car (10k miles per year average.) Now that you've knocked 10% off your original asking price, it's priced right.

I think your timing is off, as gasoline is currently dirt cheap. Two years ago when gasoline was 66% higher, you probably could have asked $1600 to $1800 more and had a quick sale.

Beetles generally command less than their Jetta counterparts. They're a little bit harder to work on just because there is less room under the hood than the Jetta / Golf.

Personally, if it wasn't for the distance, I would be all over it. But there are 1,100 miles between us.

Good luck with sale, and don't get too frustrated.

I would be all over this, but I already have a black 2001 Beetle. And apart from the interior issues mine has, I love the car. GLWS.

1. The custom interior is not everyone's cup of tea...that includes me.
2. It's a tan interior Beetle. Mine is same color combo as yours and my interior is rough.
3. It's a Beetle. Not the most desirable body style.

It's a cute car. I LOVE my Beetle, but they're not for everyone. All that being said, provided you're current on maintenance, it's mostly rust-free and the suspension isn't totally wrecked...not sure why you haven't had many offers.

GLWS!
