261,xxx miles, 5 speed swap (was an auto so it has 11mm pump), SMF and SBC Stage 3 clutch, PP520 nozzles, RC3 tune, Dieselgeek short shifter, Panzer skid plate, 2" Metalnerd lift with wagon springs. Koni Red shocks/struts, 3" downpipe and custom Whitbread side exit exhaust. Eurojet SMIC, 3 bar map (was planning 17/22 turbo but never pulled the trigger), HID retrofit with BMW E46 projectors, original Bernt fiberglass gauge pod with McNally gauges. ABD Cup style front bumper, LED tails. EGR and cat have been deleted.

Engine had a rebuilt Franko6 head installed at around 120k miles (previous owner slapped on a new timing belt after it slipped time) then traded it to the used car dealer I bought it from. I also replaced the oil pump, rod bearings and main bearings while the engine was apart.

New VNT15 turbo at 228k miles.

Complete timing belt job and installed used 11mm injection pump at 232k miles.

Has also had new thermostat, tie rods, ball joints, cooling fans and control arms at 260k. Just installed new rear ABS sensors and a new AGM battery (warranty replacement).
I detail on the side, so I just gave it a fresh detail with paint correction and ceramic coating.

The decorative rockers have some rust, but the unibody is very solid. Rocker rust could be covered up with Votex side skirts. Needs rear axle bushings, but I don't have time or the desire to do it right now. Driver's seat leather cover has failed (original cloth seats were replaced with leather seats from a junkyard car). I have a line on an identical seat in much better condition for $75. Can be replaced at your request.

Vehicle is in excellent running condition and is ready for a MN winter with Nokian Hakkapellita snow tires, strong starter (was new at around 200k miles) and functioning glow plugs.

I have owned this vehicle since 2007 and it was my daily driver until 2018 when I purchased a BMW X5 diesel. I have driven it a few times a month since then, but I don't have the space or need for it anymore. She's far from perfect, but pretty good considering age and mileage. I am very particular about maintenance and doing things to spec, all work has been done by me or greengeeker since 2007.

Such a sweet looking Beetle. Always wanted a lifted "beefy" one. I would love to maintain this with no hood stack or dumb $#!+. Just sucks you are so far away...

do you remember what size tires you had on it with the lift ? I have a 2001 with 2" metalnerd lift and am trying to figure out best tire size on stock 16 inch rims.

In one of the pics I see 205/70R and I think 16.
205/70 R15, but I also had a set of 17" wheels that were 215/55 R17.

You'd be looking at something in the green range here for similar diameter on a 16" wheel.

Tire SizeMinMaxDiameter
255/50R16 7.00in9.00in26.04" -0.99%
215/60R16 5.50in8.50in26.16" -0.54%
235/55R16 6.50in8.50in26.18" -0.46%
265/50R16 7.50in9.50in26.43" 0.51%
205/65R16 5.50in7.50in26.49" 0.73%
