(SOLD!) 1998 GLS 1.9L TDI Diesel with Power Windows. Only 109,380 Original Miles.
I bought this Jetta from a dealership way back in 2003 20 years ago, it's been in Mild East San Diego County Climate for the past 20 years, absolutely no body rust at all. It was even garaged 70% of the time, I've owned it all this time, it's served me well over the past 20 years and as you can see I've kept it in top condition.
From 2014 to 2023, it has been and still is registered in California as NON-OP status since 2014 for no other reason, I didn't want to pay registration because at that point 2012 I purchased a brand new 2012 GOLF TDI new from VW for $27,500, so this Jetta was parked in 2014, registration came up, I paid it for that year but never actually drove the car anymore so I filed PNO from that point onward until today. Last week I pulled it out, uncovered it, washed it off, changed the oil and filter, put a new Battery in it, and got it going again.
Runs Perfectly, not a single leak of any kind, no oil leaks, no fuel leaks, no leaks of any kind you could park it on the kitchen floor.
I've run B-100 Biodiesel in it since 2006.
The passenger side Power Window Regulator broke when I rolled down the window, so it needs a new Passenger side Power Window Regulator now.
Other misc. things that have come up new since it was parked, It now has an intermittent EGR Fault code, not sure if it's the EGR or the Vacuum Pump, since it sat for nearly 10 years. Does not bother me though, it runs perfectly anyway. I clear the fault code with VCDS, and it stays off for awhile, but eventually comes back again.
No longer need this car, I sold my GOLF TDI back to VW in 2017 5 years after I bought it for $27,500 and VW paid me almost $25,000 for Dieselgate! Best thing that ever happened!
This is probably the nicest condition MK3 TDI Jetta in North America for whatever that's worth!
Will post pictures soon, I need to upload them first.
