You people can have it. We're tired of it here in the Midwest. Who knows, it may save a few million by shutting the government down. Wishful thinking, I know.

Haha, funny comment. I work at the Pentagon every day, and every day I am astounded at the blatent wastes of tax money.

My parents taught me just because you have checks, does not mean you have money. Guess the politicians never had folks like that. Glad we are so close to Hati, so we can learn quickly how to adjust to being a 3rd world country.

Snow Chunnel

I had to dig a chunnel to get out my driveway this year. It's deeper than it looks in the picture. It was about 1/2 the depth of the Beetle. We called it our snow chunnel.

I hate to burst your bubble, but all of those government employees in the DC area are GETTING A PAID DAY OFF!

However, as a contractor for the government, I either have to put in 8 hours at home or take paid time off. My company certainly won't pay me for not doing any work and neither will the government.

Oh, and one more tidbit about how the government spends your money. The average # of days of leave (sick, regular and holidays) for an experienced contractor in the DC area is around 30. the equivalent government employee gets 50 (8 hours of leave/pay period; 4 hours of sick leave/pay period, plus holidays). That's literally an extra MONTH of leave.

Yikes! Some nice winter pictures.
BTW you can send some of that up north and to the west. We've been trucking the snow IN.:)

I hear you guys have been hiding it under trees for the Olympics. I wish I was back in PoCo, good luck with winning a gold on Canadian soil!

Nice Cardinal capture.

While we routinely get cold and snow all winter long here in MI, we've never gotten 26+ inches. That's just nuts. Clear your roofs off before the second storm collapses it!

I'm just glad the first thing I ever added was a skid plate! The ice ruts in the middle of the road and frozen chunks falling off of cars. It's saved me plenty this week!

Hehehe, and Americans think us Canadians live in Igloos and ski to work. I live just north of Toronto and the biggest snowfall we've had in 24 hours has been about 4 inches this year.

Well not the kind of snowy excitement I was hoping for, but some excitment alright! 70 mph winds inland. 91 mph just off Portsmouth.
