This is a very usefull add to your car. I have asked for the parts prices here and my will was down immediatelly. Only one side puddle light is more than 125 euro, without any trimms, connectors, wires !!! I will try to find an cheaper alternative to do this add to my mirrrors. I saw the Phaeton light are much more cheap, but I do not know if they will fit into the available space. These lights can be fitted much easier, only one hole to be maked. Codes for these lights are 3D0 945 291 and 3D0 945 292 ( Umfeldleuchte links/rechts means perimeter lights).

You should be able to find plenty damaged of Skoada Superbs in your area for these parts - I think they were basically standard on all of them.

They are really a very nice (and useful) mod, so well worth the effort to do.

Definitely add a touch of class as well.

Graeme, contrary to your opinion, there are not so many Superb damaged. Into salvage yards you can barelly find one and, still, they will not sell you parts from the mirrors instead of full mirror. I just have installed ellectrically foldable mirrors to my Toledo (same mirror form like Golf 4) and I do not want to replace them again. If I will find only the plastic trims and puddle lights, I will think to buy and install them to my existing mirrors. But maybe I will find some other lights that can be easially installed, who knows? It's the princeple that is important here, to have environmental lights, no? If you can do it easy, cheap and nice looking also, I think is very good. Anyway, in this forum I find many very usefull things that we can do onto our loved cars. Keep up the good work, guys !

Correct. This will work with all US/Euro CCM's.

You are just tapping into the interior light circuit for the puddle light feed.

Graeme,

Will this work with the folding mirrors? Is there enough room for the 2-pin connector and mirror motor? Is it absolutely necessary to use the 2-pin connector?

In the picture I posted the mirrors are actually folded ;-)

So yes, no problem with folding mirrors.

The LED comes with a two pin plug so you have to have some sort of join in the mirror housing to get power to them.

This picture came courtesy of a guy in the UK wiith the OEM LED's on his Skoda. This is exactly how the factory join them:

I did this mod last year thanks to Graeme posting this how to. Next oem + mod is installing lamps in the foot well using the 434 relay and the small switches that Graeme used under the center console above the ashtray!

Parts are ordered with some help, hopefully the folding mirror motor doesn't get in the way of that connector. If it does, I'll remove and splice.

Oh crap, my mods list just got bigger again, I'll never catch up at this rate lol :D

This one will be superb in winter where it gets dark around 4 pm and stays that way till 8 or 9 am. I'll need to phone the skoda dealer and see what the cost is on this side of the pond.

Let us know what the cost is on the parts on your side of the pond. If they are reasonable I may ask you a "Favour" :D:cool:
