Skipped my car like a river rock the other night...

Took an unfamiliar exit after a heavy rain and drove right into ~6 inches of standing water. Lucky me it's only cosmetic and the loss of a license plate/plate holder assembly.

I've been looking around for a replacement bumper cover and thought to ask if you beautiful people if you might know of a good place to look. Never really shopped around for entire body pieces.

Sorry to hear it- at least it wasn't worse!

Many people suggest car-part.com. I tend to use local salvage yards, but newer cars are less available.

source a GTI or R400 style front bumper? you know you want the added 10HP they offer.

ha, I did look around at those but couldn't find one in my price point.

Also, I just stumbled across this: https://www.amazon.com/BUMPERS-THAT...ords=bumper+cover&sr=8-56&vehicle=2015-74-968

$300 USD for a black unpainted front bumper cover... I don't know why I didn't consider to search amazon the other day when I made this post.

Looks like that's what these guys do, cool.

$300 for an unpainted bumper... what a bummer..
i would try and take a heat gun to it and some touch up paint before you spend a lot of $.

Meh, I'm ok with that. There's major damage around the towhook hole that you can't see in the picture I posted. Also the scratches are deep enough that the amount of effort required would cost me more than the $300 unscratched bumper cover.

Paint is a "whatever" thing because it's that special grey with the subtle metal flake in it. Looks great but paint touch up stands out unless the entire piece is repainted. I'll most likely use the unpainted bumper cover as an excuse to get my car vinyl wrapped.

You can always bring back bra's. I would personally drive it till someone parts one out on the vortex or cl. This is another option...

I looked into getting a Bra as a temp solution until I could fix the cosmetic damage. That's when I stumbled across the $300 unpainted bumper cover. It's in my shop now waiting to go to the paint shop next week. I'll try to remember to post the cost of getting it painted when I do.

Try to check out the classified ads all over the internet, I am sure that you'll be able to find one.
